This time, I shot the wedding skin of Cheshire from "Azur Lane," and I am extremely satisfied with the overall restoration level of the styling. As a pure white wedding dress series, Cheshire's design blends the two elements of purity and sensuality, and I put a lot of thought into the coordination and preparation before the shoot.
The main body of the costume is a halter-neck, deep V lace bodysuit. To perfectly fit the body curves, the waist corset design had to be cinched very tightly, which required me to keep my core engaged during the shoot; otherwise, clothing wrinkles would easily appear and affect the photo results. The blue gemstone bow on the chest is the finishing touch of this styling; to make it look more textured, I purposely added a stiff inner lining on the back to prevent it from sagging. The skirt portion is a short skirt made of multi-layered tulle and lace stacked together, requiring constant attention to arranging the skirt hem while walking and posing so that the layered feel of the tulle naturally presents itself. The white lace long arm sleeves on the hands and the white lace-trimmed garter stockings on the legs are the essence of this styling. I chose a semi-sheer style for the White stockings, with a gloss level that just right contrasts and highlights the leg lines without looking chalky white.
Regarding the wig, Cheshire's signature grayish-blue hair color and the blue inner highlights required clear layering. To make the wig look more natural, I used a curling iron to handle the curve of the hair ends and thinned out the bangs to enhance the cat-like vibe. The makeup emphasized a pure-yet-alluring feel, with the eye makeup elongating the outer corners, deepening the aegyo-sal, and pairing with circle lenses to enlarge the eyes. Because it was a wedding theme, the lip makeup selected a glossy, watery pink with a tiny bit of sheen, appearing exceptionally vibrant under the high-key studio lighting. At the same time, I used polarized highlighter on the tip of the nose and collarbones to enhance dimensionality. The cat-ear headband I wore connected to a long veil; to guarantee the veil's ethereal and flowing feel, I secured it inside with hairpins, and when striking poses, I intentionally used my shoulders and head to lift and carry the veil, creating a light, dynamic effect.
The solid color background for this shoot kept the visual focus entirely concentrated on the subject and the costume. To showcase my body advantages, I designed several different sitting and reclining postures. The side-lying action required one arm to prop up the ground, legs extended to one side, and the body slightly turned, which not only elongated the leg proportions but also made the deep V neckline lines more prominent. When shooting the side-lying pose, the insteps needed to be pointed, combining the high heels' curve with the texture of the White stockings to bring out the entire line. When kneeling, the body needed to lean forward slightly with a straight waist and back, making the body curves fuller. For everyday shooting of clothes like this that are prone to accidental exposure, I always prepare anti-slip stickers and double-sided tape to secure the edges of the clothing—especially around the deep V and short skirt areas—to prevent accidents when changing poses. Since a large area of the costume is white and prone to overexposure, I reminded the photographer during the shoot to underexpose by about one stop to preserve the lace texture details of the clothing, while paying closer attention during post-processing to retaining skin texture without destroying the original shadow structures, ensuring every single photo presents its absolute best state.
The shooting experience for this wedding Cheshire was fantastic. Although the wig styling arrangement and clothing anti-exposure treatments were tedious, the final photo effects met expectations. The combination of White stockings and glitter high heels was genuinely a massive visual bonus, and trying out camera angles from different positions helped me find the poses that best showcased this outfit's features. I hope these little behind-the-scenes photography snippets provide a helpful reference for everyone.
