Shooting Azur Lane Hatsuzuki's swimsuit skin "August Summer Romance" carried an ambiance far more relaxed and entertaining than I imagined. The wig featured long tresses accented with red-and-black dip-dyed streaks, paired with crimson contact lenses to faithfully capture the character's traits. The wardrobe consisted of a black triangle bikini top paired with a sheer white sun-protection cardigan; the choker at the neck and thigh straps added intricate flair to the silhouette, while the curved white horn props atop my head required constant recalibration to look organic on camera.

The set was staged as an indoor ice cream shack beside a swimming pool. Oversized ice cream displays, a menu board sign, and yellow Mambo Chicken plush toys scattered everywhere filled the venue with vivid summer energy. The red strawberry shaved ice and vanilla cone held in hand served as fantastic interactive props, not only enriching frame colors but also helping me ease into a relaxed mindset quickly. Tumbling playfully around Mambo Chicken plushes or leaning by the poolside to kick up splashes of water formed truly authentic summer memories.

During shooting, photographer Mingri was exceptional at seizing dynamic candid moments. In the shots kicking water by the pool, the splashing droplets across my legs felt slightly chilly, yet the captured frames brimmed with agile life. The over-the-shoulder glance leaning against the pool ladder demanded core engagement to keep posture upright and silhouettes fluid, all while maintaining relaxed facial expressions. Lounging across the rattan lounger holding ice cream, natural light washed softly over my skin with luminous clarity. Because this was a built-in indoor pool, blue light bounces off the water and tiles risked washing out facial complexion, prompting careful calibration of makeup highlights and contours.

To ensure top photo quality, we experimented with varied poses—from casually savoring ice cream to glancing back against the pool railings—aiming to showcase Hatsuzuki's lively yet subtly alluring charm. The white sheer cover-up flowed with airy buoyancy by the water, complementing damp locks and bare feet to grant every composition natural breathing room. Though the session demanded non-stop adjustments to posture and expression, seeing the vivid interplay of light and saturated tones across the finished frames made every hour spent by the pool thoroughly worthwhile.
