The convention photos from Day 2 of 2026 CICF are finally organized! This time, I cosplayed Nagasaki Soyo from MyGO!!!!!. Choosing this character was largely driven by her nuanced, paradoxical temperament. To achieve faithful recreation, I poured extensive care into hair and makeup styling. The wig was layered with precision to match her signature light-brown long straight hair, demanding meticulous daily maintenance to stave off frizz. In eye makeup, I selected greyish-blue contact lenses with softly elongated eyeliner, striving to capture her outwardly gentle yet subtly detached demeanor.

The coordinate pairs a crisp white shirt with a blue denim-inspired jacket and corset cincher, boasting intricate details—especially the pearl chains and metallic buckles that tended to tangle during walks around the convention hall, requiring repeated smoothing before takes. Yet the moment I cradled that gradient electric bass in my arms, the character connection clicked instantly. The bass carried genuine heft; carrying it across the convention grounds for most of Day 2 left my shoulders quite sore. But slipping into shooting mode and locking in my fingering posture instantly pushed all exhaustion away.

Our shooting spot was set along the skyscraper streets just outside the venue. The perimeter lighting in the afternoon was chaotic with harsh overhead rays. Photographer NightDiva demonstrated supreme professionalism, continuously angling to dodge unflattering shadows while catching cool-toned reflections bounced off the glass curtain walls. This cool, cyan ambient light actually harmonized impeccably with the youthful melancholy and longing woven into the BanG Dream! universe. In backlit angles, the bass also took on exquisite tactile definition.

Beyond the bass, I brought along a matching character plush mascot and a retro film camera. The doll's tactile finish and facial expression were wonderfully accurate; holding it atop my head or hugging it tight during breaks infused lively everyday realism into the shoot. Holding the camera evoked her tender habit of documenting life throughout the story. These props were never mere static decorations—they served as emotional anchors guiding me straight into her mind.

I am thrilled with the composition of this set—ranging from immersive frames lost in music holding the bass, to emotive close-ups reflecting nuanced feelings toward the lens. For me, cosplaying is far more than slipping into garments and styling wigs; it is an intimate dialogue with a character's soul. Nagasaki Soyo traverses an extensive journey of growth in the narrative, navigating confusion in search of belonging, and I hoped to convey those depths through my gaze. We encountered so many enthusiastic photographers and fellow fans at CICF, and everyone was immensely supportive, making the entire session flow seamlessly. Grateful to NightDiva's lens for archiving this journey, and deeply thankful for this gear that stood by me throughout the convention—every single moment remains unforgettable.
