Sharing the floor shots of Sakuya Izayoi from the Chengdu Anime Convention today! The ensemble consists of a deep navy sheer chiffon dress paired with a white lace pinafore apron. In terms of textile choices, I deliberately picked a chiffon with subtle translucency, allowing the skirt to display gorgeous layers and soft sheen under the complex lighting of the convention hall. The outfit features multiple strapping and metallic chain details, which, combined with the off-the-shoulder neckline, introduce sharp visual impact while upholding the Chief Maid's dignified grace.
For the hair, I selected a medium-length silver-white wig styled with gentle side waves, crowned by a white lace bonnet accented with black bows and pearl chains to balance head-to-body proportions cleanly. For makeup, since the character possesses blue eyes, I wore high-pigment blue contact lenses. The eye makeup was gently deepened with reddish-brown shading, allowing the eyes to shine with striking clarity against the silver hair.
Capturing convention floor photos genuinely tests adaptability; background crowds are chaotic and lighting can be tricky to tame. To optimize the setup, we brought along a white plush rug and a black high stool. The dark garment creates a crisp contrast against the white rug, instantly isolating the subject while the rug cradles the hemline for a fuller, fluffier drape. The seated pose in Photo 4 is a personal favorite: crossing my legs and extending them forward not only elongated leg lines, but also clearly showcased the leg strap details, while leaning my torso back slightly added kinetic tension. Perching on the stool in Photo 1 and fanning the skirt backward beautifully highlighted the waistline and the opulent cut of the gown.
In posing delivery, I focused on keeping my spine, shoulders, and neck tall and straight, using core engagement to support the posture even when seated on the floor. While the expansive train made moving around tiring, seeing the graceful arc of the draped skirt through the lens made every effort worthwhile. Being convention floor captures, I had the photographer use a wide aperture to melt the background hall and crowds into soft blur, leveraging overhead lights for rim highlights to achieve a studio-grade finish right in the middle of a bustling venue. I'm very satisfied with the character fidelity this time—huge thanks to the photographer for the sharp captures and to the assistant for logistics support. I'll pour just as much care into prepping the next look!
