With only a 2-hour window at the Azur Lane Cooling Festival, the schedule was packed tight from entrance to pack-up. Thankfully, going over the storyboards in advance with the photographer made our shooting efficiency far higher than expected. Although time was brief at this 2026 Port District Midsummer Cooling Festival, the on-site red-and-blue display panels, tire and oil drum props, and vintage sofa sets were all remarkably photogenic.
I prepared several different styles for this shoot. The first was a one-piece outfit in black glossy material paired with black thigh-high stockings. For this setup, we deliberately chose a red velvet chaise lounge; the reflective sheen of the high-gloss fabric formed a sharp visual contrast against the light-absorbing velvet texture. This high-sheen material is very sensitive to camera angles—a slight camera shift made the reflections look like liquid metal, creating intense visual tension alongside the checkerboard tile floor to highlight Long legs in black stockings.
The other looks were racing-themed: one was a navy performance stage costume, while another was a bright orange and blue color-blocked mini-dress paired with glossy black over-the-knee boots for a Racing style cosplay feel. The exhibition area featured numerous tire and oil drum props alongside an 'ARE YOU READY' slogan board, perfectly matching this sleek, capable motorsport aesthetic. When holding the gold trophy, the photographer told me to channel the feeling of being on the podium with a focused, resolute gaze, which produced great results.
There was also a pink bunny girl outfit paired with white thigh-high stockings. Completely different from the previous cool, edgy styles, its overall color scheme was softer and sweeter, allowing for much more relaxed poses during the shoot.
Across the 2-hour event, changing outfits, resetting poses, and chasing light made for a fast-paced sprint. Due to the limited time, we had to quickly scout functional on-site props like red tires, black oil drums, and vintage lanterns, while delivering dynamic movement timed with the strobes. Because high-gloss garments can easily blow out under strong flashes, I coordinated with the photographer to dial down the flash power and preserve the fabric's textured details. Encountering other players who courteously queued at each set made for a wonderful community atmosphere. Though repeatedly pacing across the checkerboard floor in high heels was exhausting, the fatigue vanished the moment we saw the shots. Despite the tight schedule, capturing satisfying frames across every style made it a completely fulfilling experience.
