[Eyjafjalla Cosplay] Going on a Picnic with a Little Bunny: Relaxing Time in the Grass

A picnic gathering where the little sheep cuddles with a bunny—I've finally taken out this blue and white color-schemed Eyjafjalla picnic outfit for a shoot. Today's focus is to talk about the texture of this outfit and various choices of picnic photo poses during the outdoor shoot.

The overall color coordination of this costume is incredibly refreshing. The upper body features a white off-shoulder dress design, and the fabric texture is highly lightweight; combined with the exaggerated puffy flutter sleeves and independent white lace gloves, this fabric layering appears extremely translucent under the outdoor sunlight. The chest is embellished with a blue bow tie carrying a bell, which, along with the deep blue wide waist cincher and the blue grand skirt hem with red and white diamond grids, ensures the overall silhouette retains the cuteness of Anime cosplay without looking bulky. What I love the most is the rigid blue bow tie on top of the head and the soft white animal ears decoration right beside it, creating an undefinable sheep-like feel.

The wig has plenty of hair volume, and I specifically selected this style that transitions from light brown to a pink gradient at the ends, adding a fine little side braid to instantly bring out a spiritual aura. Paired with pink-purple contact lenses and eye makeup adorned with red eyeshadow, the gaze in front of the lens looks exceptionally deep and bright. Because the headpiece and wig of the overall styling possess a strong sense of volume, even a slight breeze during an outdoor shoot easily creates an ethereal, drifting effect.

Props are naturally indispensable for a picnic theme. This time, I prepared a rattan woven picnic basket lined with red and white plaid, packed with two baguettes and paper packaging bags, plus a highly adorable beige closed-eye little bunny plushie. These props are randomly placed on the grass, coordinated with the prepared blue and white balloons nearby, allowing this daily life feeling to naturally melt into the environment. The character Eyjafjalla herself carries highly distinct animal elements, making this little bunny plushie absolutely perfect as an interactive prop. Whether holding it in my hands, balancing it on my head, or capturing the moment of throwing and catching, it breathes a lot of life into the frame.

The shoot day was chosen around 4:30 PM on the park grass. The sunlight angled down, casting warm and soft rays that formed a beautiful golden rim light across the grass. Light during this golden hour is incredibly forgiving, heavily enhancing the color saturation of the Cosplay outfit. I paid close attention to the figure's posture during the shoot; for instance, this photo used as the cover adopts a single-leg standing posture with both hands lifting the skirt hem. This angle perfectly showcases the layers of the blue pleated skirt, while the matching white stockings and black Mary Jane shoes form a color contrast against the grass, making the overall leg lines look slender and natural. This is one of my highly recommended picnic photo poses.

Honestly, to make an outdoor cosplay shoot look natural, the movements shouldn't be too stiff. When I was shooting, I would try interacting with the props, like pretending to toss the plushie or gently swaying my body left and right. The photographer, when taking snapshots, often captures many inadvertent smiles. In terms of composition, since it's outdoor natural light, I prefer including tree stumps, trunks, or the balloons on the lawn into the background to give the entire photo a sense of space. The resulting images possess both the soul of the character itself and a lifelike authenticity, with the touches of the plushie and picnic basket enriching the details visually.
