This shoot took place in Ikebukuro as a MyGO!!!!! Ikebukuro pilgrimage. To dodge the rush-hour crowds, I set my alarm for 4:00 AM and headed out. Ikebukuro at 5:00 AM is a stark contrast to its bustling daytime self—the streets are virtually devoid of pedestrians, with only sporadic vehicles starting their early morning commute. This quiet environment is invaluable for an immersive shoot, allowing me to stand fearlessly in the middle of the street or at the edge of pedestrian overpasses to capture compositions faithful to the anime.

For this shoot, I portrayed Sakiko Toyokawa, styled with long blue hair and white ribbon bows on both sides, a white collared shirt accented with a small black bow tie, a gray-and-white plaid pleated skirt, white socks, and black uniform loafers. Before leaving home, I spent a significant amount of time styling the wig and adjusting the ribbons. Although Sakiko Toyokawa's hairstyle appears simple at first glance, the curvature of the bangs and the shoulder-length locks require meticulous grooming to bring out her iconic look. To match the gentle and hopeful atmosphere of 'Shiro-Saki' (White Sakiko), the makeup was kept fresh, translucent, and natural—omitting heavy colors so a bright, refreshing slice-of-life realism could shine through.

We wandered through the streets of Ikebukuro, hitting multiple photo spots including staircases, elevated railway bridges, and miniature landscape installations. The morning light was extraordinarily soft with a subtle, cool blue tint; combined with the photographer's skillful framing, every shot exuded a rich Japanese cinematic atmosphere. Standing on the pedestrian bridge with pink railings, the winding railway tracks and distant high-rises in the background were brimming with urban life, as if the rumble of trains could echo through the frame at any moment. Throughout the shoot, I tried to stay relaxed without overly dramatic posing, walking down the street naturally as if on a routine commute, allowing the photographer to capture candid moments of me checking my phone or gazing quietly into the distance.

The school uniform is lightweight and breathable, and layering it with a loose, light-gray cardigan not only kept the chilly morning air at bay but also enhanced the everyday vibe. Walking across Ikebukuro's stone steps and gravel paths with this white socks styling in loafers felt grounded and authentic to a student's daily life. I particularly enjoyed framing shots in the miniature park at dawn—surrounded by miniature trees and cottage models, the scene paired wonderfully with the cool blue wig tones, creating a magical feeling akin to stepping into a fairy tale. While waking up at 4:00 AM was truly exhausting, being able to immerse myself in the character's atmosphere on the empty streets of Ikebukuro and produce a satisfying, faithful set of photos made every bit of effort worthwhile.
