The recruitment for the independent anime convention tour at this ICOS Beijing Anime Festival has already opened, and I am also preparing my photo release plan. From August 8th to 9th, at the Beijing National Convention Center, a 20,000-square-meter venue, it's said there will be nearly a hundred guests and tens of thousands of cosplayers attending—just thinking about the scale makes me so excited. I specifically shot a set of new looks in advance: red hair cosplay paired with an all-black leather jacket and shorts, plus over-the-knee high socks and high heels, going for a somewhat cold and glamorous combat dark style overall. The grip on the prop sword feels very solid. During the shoot, to find that fierce gaze, I repeatedly adjusted my sitting posture and the angle of holding the sword. The advantage of studio photography is the precise control over lighting; the red background can suppress the black clothing, giving the frame a stronger visual tension. However, standing continuously for several hours in this outfit is quite a test of physical stamina, especially with the high heels. But to ensure a better state at the convention site, practicing my posture and movement rhythm in advance can be considered a requirement I set for myself.
This session of ICOS has invited many well-known authors and manga artists, such as Chu Jiu Du Yi and superpanda, as well as several fellow cosplayers I follow, like "Xiao Tian Cai Xiao Xi Le" and "Tian Zi de Hu Li yu Mei Gui". The lineup is quite rich. Exits E and H of Olympic Park Station on Subway Line 8 lead directly to the venue, making transportation highly convenient and friendly for friends who want to properly browse the exhibition. Having such a large-scale ACG gathering right before the school semester starts is indeed a rare opportunity to relax. For this cosplay photography session, I also tried out some new lighting techniques, and in post-processing, I tried my best to preserve the skin texture without excessive airbrushing because the character's inherent temperament demands that realistic, cold feel. If you also like this style or are interested in the preparation process of an anime convention, you are more than welcome to come to the site to chat with me. I'll be meeting everyone with this look then!
