"My internal body temperature is 1400 degrees, you know." Right after reciting this classic voiceline, I turned around only to find my friend pretending to sleep next to me. Caught between laughter and tears, I had no choice but to yank him up, urging him to get up and accompany me out shopping.

This photoshoot project was dedicated to Nian cosplay from Arknights. Anyone familiar with her character surely smiles knowingly at the line "My internal body temperature is 1400 degrees." To achieve an authentic Anime recreation of this energetic Sui operator, I dedicated immense care to the costume, props, and styling.

First, let's talk about this red-and-white battle robe. The white outer coat is printed with black glyphs and red circuit patterns resembling esoteric runes, blending modern techwear aesthetics with traditional Chinese flair. Underneath is a red bandeau adorned with light gold embroidery, casually draped under the open robe; paired with white shorts, a black leather waist belt, and an exquisite patch-accented waist pouch, it brought out the character's crisp, vibrant charm flawlessly.

The prop was undeniably the centerpiece of this shoot. Featuring a silver-white hilt and two colossal red serrated blades, the weapon felt remarkably heavy in hand. To capture both her sheer physical power and agile grace, the photographer and I explored various angles. Especially in Photo 1, with a small leap combined with post-processing visual effects, we created an explosive sensation of erupting from the ground; paired with floating red crystalline shards around the blade, it radiated her distinct, overwhelming aura. Holding it up for poses was physically exhausting, but we adjusted positioning repeatedly to achieve the optimal visual impact in this Cosplay photography session.

The makeup and hair were also given special attention. The pale blonde wig retained volume at the crown, with side strands framing the face, while red highlights woven into the front bangs echoed the deep-crimson horns atop my head. Purple contact lenses combined with red eyeshadow gave the gaze a sharper, spirited focus. In the fourth close-up photo, sticking out my tongue playfully was a deliberate choice to capture the mischievous, quirky aspect of her personality, aiming to lift her off the 2D page so she stands before everyone full of life and vitality.

The photoshoot venue was set within a covered corridor brimming with traditional Chinese architecture for this Outdoor cosplay. Antique wooden pillars, bluestone pavement, and openwork moon gates harmonized beautifully with the character's visual elements. Photo 2, featuring a standing stance with the blade resting on my shoulder, maximized this symmetrical aesthetic, complemented by ambient natural sunlight filtering in from outside. Despite the heavy props and inevitable outdoor mosquitoes, the resulting photos turned out fantastic.

We also conducted plenty of research into garment tailoring: the sleeve cuff design of the coat, the length of the shorts, and the waist belt placement all needed to look visually stunning without hindering dynamic motion. Wielding such a massive prop outdoors while maintaining an effortless demeanor was truly a test. Fortunately, the photographer's professional guidance and my own exploration of character nuances made the final four chosen photos deeply satisfying in their level of fidelity.

True to her character lore, I poured 1400 degrees of burning passion into channeling this vitality through the lens in this Cosplay photography project. I believe that across these photos with varied angles and moods, everyone can feel the singular charm of Nian from Arknights. Pouring my heart and soul into sculpting her persona is the very essence and joy of why I do cosplay.
