The costume chosen for this shoot, with its black, red, and gold color scheme, put a lot of effort into fabric texture and embroidery details. The layered ruffles on the chest and cuffs preserve the inherent gorgeousness of the character while adding dynamic depth to the shoot. Particularly that flat-topped crown accessory, with its golden vines and cascading red bead tassels, delivered a brilliant reflective effect under the convention overhead lights.
To balance the weight of the headpiece, I adjusted the center of gravity and support points many times during the shoot. The relatively relaxed sitting posture in Image 3 instead managed to present the best visual center. The eye makeup was paired with red colored contact lenses, giving my gaze a stronger sense of focus.
During the process of cosplay photo sharing, post-processing mainly focused on adjusting the contrast and unifying the environmental colors. The reflection on the smooth floor of the venue is a double-edged sword; when handled properly, it can mirror the reflection of the skirt hem, adding depth and layering to the image. The photographer's control over different camera positions was spot-on; Images 1-2 focus on the overall flow, while Images 3-4 put the lens's focus on facial expressions and cuff details.
Cosplay, from costume making to makeup and styling, and then to on-site lighting adjustment, requires repeated collaboration at every step. This complex, loosely structured sleeve style heavily tests your muscle control during convention photography. If not posed well, it easily looks bloated, but after multiple attempts, I found the right folding angle, making the final effect look very natural and smooth.
The black-and-red color-blocked skirt paired with the footwear creates a powerful contrast between light and dark. When shooting this kind of large skirt style, apart from the sophisticated nature of the gorgeous outfit itself, the choice of a wide-angle lens is also crucial. It can accommodate the exaggerated crown and cuffs without making the frame feel overly compressed, and the perspective of the actual final photos turned out very harmonious. The golden tassels in the details were all meticulously trimmed to ensure a clean and sharp texture in the image. The combination of the black-and-red color block and vibrant gold threads makes the photos look amazing whether in dim areas or bright light.
