Today, I finally finished shooting the main cosplay photos for Kazami Yuuka. This red-and-black plaid skirt and the sunflower corsage are the core of the entire styling. To faithfully restore the character's vibe, the wig was specially chosen to be this bright green bob cut with blunt bangs; this high-saturation green is eye-catching both outdoors and inside the venue. The wig easily tangles after being worn for a long time, so it needed to be groomed with a comb from time to time to maintain the fluffy feel of the styling. In terms of makeup, red contact lenses paired with red-toned eyeshadow emphasized the sharpness of the gaze, and the base makeup was kept very white, hoping to bring out a slightly surreal, out-of-the-ordinary feeling. Having worn the contacts for a large part of the day, my eyes felt a bit dry, so I used eye drops halfway through.

There are quite a few details to the clothing: a white shirt paired with a plaid vest dress, with ruffles and golden buttons on the cuffs. The lace trim on the skirt hem and the front zipper design were also restored as much as possible. As for props, besides the large sunflower on the chest, a white lace long-handled umbrella was also prepared. The lower body is matched with Black stockings and reddish-brown chunky-heeled Mary Janes. Walking around an Anime convention venue wearing Black stockings really tests the comfort of the shoes, but fortunately, the heels of these shoes aren't too high, so I could manage even after standing for a long time.

The shooting location was at the Anime convention venue, with many passersby and booths in the background. The photographer used a large-aperture lens to blur out the background, making the frame look cleaner. I tried various poses such as standing and looking back, and sitting. When shooting sitting down, the huge skirt hem spread out, which took a lot of time to tidy up the wrinkles of the skirt to ensure the overall harmony of the frame. The looking-back motion heavily tests waist strength while also requiring control of the umbrella angle and facial expression, trying best to showcase the character's confidence and languidness. Sometimes, to wait for a gap with no passersby passing by, maintaining a single posture for several minutes was quite a test of physical strength.

The lighting at the Anime convention venue was relatively complex, with many overhead spotlights causing facial shadows, so during the shooting, I tried to find areas with even lighting or relied on the photographer's external fill lights. The material of this outfit is relatively thick, so walking around the exhibition still felt a bit warm, but seeing the final photo results made everything feel worth it. Every time I do cosplay, from final makeup checks and finding locations to post-processing photo selection, it's a tedious yet full-of-anticipation process. At the convention, you also meet many fellow fans who recognize the character, and everyone exchanges shooting angles and poses—this kind of atmosphere is particularly wonderful.

As a coser who loves Touhou Project, being able to present Kazami Yuuka in this form is deeply satisfying. During the shooting process, I was also thinking about how to convey the character's powerful yet slightly mysterious aura through body language and gaze. From adjusting the wig position to tidying up every fold of the skirt, the accumulation of these details makes the character more three-dimensional. The way of holding the prop umbrella was also adjusted several times, needing to look natural without blocking the details of the clothing. Overall, this shooting went relatively smoothly in terms of the coordination of clothing, makeup styling, and props, and I look forward to the opportunity to try characters of more different styles in the future.
