[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane Royal Maid's Singing Moment - Image 1

Putting on this modified black garment for a Cheongsam cosplay and wearing the signature blue-green gradient wig and cat-eared top hat, I knew I was going to transform into Azur Lane's Cheshire today. Although the shooting venue was a highly modern indoor exhibition hall, the combination of the black plush shawl and lace garter stockings unexpectedly formed a great visual contrast with the cool white industrial background.

Leaning on the microphone stand with "MANTUA" written on it, the posture of resting one hand on the waist was actually harder to maintain than imagined. Because the high heels have high platforms and the hem of the cheongsam is tightened, trying to strike that relaxed yet slightly playful posture required keeping my core continuously engaged. However, the moment the shutter clicked, I felt like I truly entered the character's state, as if I would open my mouth to sing a royal-style ballad for everyone in the next second.

During the shoot, to avoid the cluttered silhouettes of other people in the background, the photographer @Naoko奈绪子 deliberately chose a low-angle shot, which not only elongated the leg proportions but also turned the massive truss structure behind me into a powerful backdrop—a classic benefit of professional Convention photography. Actually, every time I do a Cheshire Cosplay, I face a challenge: how to balance cuteness and elegance, since her setting itself is quite lively and unconventional.

When my black leather gloves gripped the microphone stand, I paid close attention to the placement of my fingers to avoid reflecting the light from the metal stand onto my face. The texture of the plush shawl is awesome, but wearing it for too long gets really hot. To display the most perfect posture, I could only frantically use a portable mini fan to cool down during scene transitions. Fortunately, the final Convention photo did not let this hard work go to waste. The cool-toned light source made my skin look even fairer, and the slit line of the hem happened to reveal the lace edge on the thigh, making the overall effect both sexy and natural. Looking at this photo, I think of Cheshire's high-energy voice lines in the game. Perhaps this is the charm of role-playing; once you put on her clothes, you unconsciously want to imitate her expressions and tone. I hope this liveliness in visual perception can be transmitted through the lens to every player who loves Azur Lane.
