Sitting at the desk by the window, today is another one of those days where I just don't want to do homework. However, compared to solving problems, what's more important is restoring that subtle feeling of Kasugano Sora—seemingly indifferent, yet delicate on the inside. For this outdoor shoot, we chose the school building and the locker area next to the corridor as our scenes. The white-haired twin tails paired with bowknots are absolutely iconic elements. Together with the white shirt, checkered pleated skirt, stockings, and black loafers, it stays as close as possible to the everyday atmosphere in the original work.
During the shoot, it actually tested my expression control quite a bit. I had to embody that cool, detached trait without appearing too rigid. Personally, I really love the photos of me resting my chin on my hand at the desk; with the city buildings outside the window serving as a blurred background, it perfectly brings out the character's silhouette and sense of loneliness. Meanwhile, the scene in front of the lockers adds a bit more daily life vibe, counting as another kind of footprint left by the character on campus.
This time, whether it was the colors of the makeup or the styling of the wig, I hoped to showcase Sora-chan's purity and uniqueness. Every time I put on this outfit and walk into a classroom, it gives me the illusion of traveling into a 2D space. Although the shifting light in the venue and the indoor-outdoor temperature difference brought some challenges, my teammates put a lot of effort into the lighting and framing. In this quiet afternoon, freezing the moment of waiting with the lens is a special commemoration. Waiting for someone to step into this tiny space and break this tranquility.
