When shooting the character for this Kasugano Sora cosplay this time, the focus was placed on recreating her sense of purity and that classic single-leg standing posture. The combination of the white dress and black ribbons is the most core visual element. To reflect the lightweight texture of the skirt hem, a fabric with a bit of sheer and drape was selected. For the wig, a matte light blonde color was chosen, paired with the Blonde twin tails styling, so that it wouldn't produce messy reflections under the high-key studio lighting, and the layers of the hair strands would be clearer.
During the shoot, because I needed to stand barefoot on the ground coupled with the single-leg raised posture, the center of gravity was very hard to master. To stabilize my body while keeping my arms naturally raised to hold the gray rabbit prop, I repeatedly adjusted the angles of muscle exertion many times. The photographer, Sister Kou, controlled the set very steadily and guided me perfectly, capturing this exact moment where the skirt hem slightly flies up and the limb lines are most extended after multiple attempts.
To ensure the dreamy feel of the overall frame, this set of photos did not use complex real-scene construction, but used a high-key pure white background paired with softboxes to cast even diffused reflection light. This lighting method can eliminate harsh shadows on the face and body to the greatest extent, creating a CG-like translucent texture. The glowing stars and planetary ring effects added in post-production were also meant to fit the character's slightly lonely and ethereal atmosphere, naturally focusing the visual center on the person while retaining the delicate skin texture of the original photos.
As a character attempt leaning towards a lightweight feel and atmosphere, this set of photos is more about subtracting and capturing the state. Without too much environmental distraction, it conversely conveys the character's vulnerability and just-right stubbornness in a purer way. Although the gear isn't complex, through the cooperation of lighting and post-effects, the final presented images basically achieved the expected cool, dreamy effect, making it a cooperation with a very pleasant shooting experience.
