The abandoned concrete pier by the sea, with its mottled cement surface and exposed, rusted rebars, forms a stark visual contrast against the clear, azure water behind it. Choosing this location as the outdoor setting for the Kasugano Sora cosplay shoot was precisely due to this collision between industrial decay and a fresh, natural environment. It perfectly captures the slightly spacious and somewhat lonely daily life atmosphere in Yosuga no Sora.

Regarding the styling preparation this time, the texture of the white wig was actually incredibly important. To present Sora-chan's fluffy, slightly curled twintails and natural luster, I spent a long time combing it before the shoot. The placement of the black bow ties couldn't be too high or too low; they had to sit exactly on the lower part of the back of the head. Placing them too high would look overly juvenile, while placing them too low would lose that sense of lightness. The pure white dress on my body adopted a semi-transparent sheer fabric, which creates a thin, breathable, and flowing feel under the sunlight, making the shoot highly dependent on the expression of light and shadow. The dark-colored plush toy held in my hand was the key prop for this look; it not only visually broke the monotony of the overall white but also added a slice-of-life air of the character habitually carrying a personal item around.

The outdoor temperature on the shooting day was extremely high, and the UV rays by the sea were very strong, which posed a major test for the longevity of the base makeup and wig glue. Since the pier was quite rugged and some areas even hung suspended over the water, many trade-offs were made in selecting camera positions to ensure safety during the shoot. The spot in Figure 1 happens to be a relatively stable fault, allowing me to stand naturally and use the perspective relationship to let the wooden piles and pier lines behind me extend into the distance, giving the frame more depth. The high-angle view in Figure 2 is a candid capture of the moment I walked forward. Although it was quite difficult and I couldn't look at the camera, this casual, unstudied feel perfectly reflects a person's relaxed state in an open, natural environment.

For the color grading in post-processing, I intentionally avoided excessively cranking up the saturation and contrast, instead trying my best to preserve the original high-brightness, clear blue of the sea and the washed-out texture of the background under direct sunlight. A slight cool tint was added to the shadow areas to highlight the crisp chill of the seaside in summer. At the same time, the white dress of the main subject was prone to overexposure in such a high-contrast lighting environment, so a lot of thought went into preserving the skirt details and the rim light on the hair strands. This clear, cool color tone perfectly matches the fresh, bright, yet slightly melancholy summer feel of Yosuga no Sora in the anime. Especially the looking-back posture in Figure 1, paired with the skirt hem and hair strands fluttering gently in the breeze, beautifully conveys the trait of the character appearing quiet on the outside while harboring a certain deep obsession within.

"Our red thread is in our blood vessels"—the post's description carries a strong sense of imagery. Doing this cosplay was not just to recreate the character, but moreover to express that profound bond that exists in memory and is rooted in the blood. Although the venue was crude, and the path wasn't easy to walk due to gaps overgrown with wild weeds and gravel on the cement ground, it was precisely because of this that the character's pure, direct emotional expression felt more impactful in such a rustic, primitive natural environment. Stepping onto these rough concrete blocks in a white dress while feeling the sea breeze, I feel this is exactly what Kasugano Sora looks like at her most authentic in Yosuga no Sora, and it's also the part that made this shoot feel the most meaningful to me as a piece of my cosplay daily life.
