Putting on this silver-gray wig and that pair of horns, that weird uncanny sense of looking both smart and goofy immediately surfaced. To match the Four Seasons Graduation season project, I intentionally skipped any complicated studio setups and ran straight to the park to shoot a set of graduation Abstract photos. The carpet of withered golden-yellow leaves made for the best backdrop. Grabbing a random plastic bag as a prop, flashing a peace sign with golden eyes, and deliberately grinning with teeth showing, I completely nailed the essence of being delightfully goofy.
Speaking of the hair and makeup styling: a silver-gray wig with bangs paired with black-and-red horns, golden-yellow contacts plus reddish eyeshadow blending. Originally, I wanted to portray a cooler, more ruthless look. But wearing this deep purple-blue coat, matched with the blue printed lapel at the collar, pink inner shirt, and a gray turtleneck gaiter, it oozes a gap-moe contrast no matter how you look at it. Posing with a V-sign while holding a plastic bag among fallen leaves, this spontaneous unedited raw-shot vibe is honestly way more fun than heavily retouched photos.
What I wanted to capture this time was this slightly memey graduation vibe—after all, during Graduation season, you've got to let loose and be yourself. Even though I was smiling like an idiot before the camera, I knew deep down that this contrast and weird charm was the exact focal point I wanted to convey. The autumn sunlight was so warm, falling across my face and the dead leaves, giving the whole photo set a very natural, organic texture.
Trying out these non-standard selfie angles, and speaking of costume details: the outfit quality is great, the blue pattern on the lapel is very delicate, and the zipper makes it super easy to put on and take off. Overall, looking both smart and derpy is genuinely hilarious. Seizing the opportunity of this graduation project, I managed to preserve the relaxed, lighthearted atmosphere unique to this season.
