[Jie Cosplay] Meeting Jie from Arknights at Firefly ACG Expo

This time, debuting this Jie cosplay look from Arknights at the Firefly ACG Expo was a relatively complete attempt I've prepared recently. The overall visual weight of the outfit focuses on the multi-layered Chinese-style fantasy design. The neckline of the white inner piece features three-dimensional pleated processing, while the bright orange splicing and dark blue sleeve sections on the outer layer provide a sharp color contrast. The red and white geometric grid pattern on the blue base shows an obvious texture under the lens. The outer draped medium-gray fabric has an excellent drape, which creates a natural dynamic layering with the waist tie when walking around. This fluid movement of the fabric can be seen more clearly when I stand sideways or sit down in the second and fourth photos.

The head details of this look were actually quite laborious. The glossy pointed ears and that pair of jade-like curved horns with gradient colors have a very soft texture. The overall hairstyle features straight bangs with a single-sided fine braid, adorned with small red hair accessories on the head. The core of the makeup is the red blending around the eyes, paired with light-colored irises, which looks quite spirited under the indoor natural light. This shoot took place inside the Firefly ACG Expo venue, where the diffuse lighting from above the exhibition hall cast softly on my face, and the background bokeh from the large aperture was very clean, preventing the frame from looking too cluttered.

As for the props, I also made several small items this time. The dark blue traditional thread-bound book and the red brush in Figure 1 are details I really love. There is also that long black magical implement prop, which has a golden ring decoration and red accessories on top; whether held horizontally with both hands or held in one hand like in Figure 6, it beautifully enriches the hand movements. Additionally, the glove design is also very interesting, featuring red character decorations at the wrist. This detail is shown exceptionally clearly in the upward head-tilt and arm-extension posture in Figure 5. When executing reaching or picking-up actions, the gloves add a strong sense of exquisiteness to the overall styling.

The overall atmosphere of this Firefly ACG Expo was quite good. Although the crowds kept coming and going in the background, the hall had great natural lighting, so the captured photos carry a strong sense of transparency without feeling dull. For myself, this multi-layered styling combination paired with various small props allows me to maintain an excellent character state whether walking around the convention or sitting down to rest. The fabric of the costume is actually not particularly thin, but the overall mobility when wearing it is acceptable, so it doesn't affect the expansion of poses during shooting. In Figure 2, I chose to sit on the reflective floor to flip through the prop book. This slightly lower perspective unexpectedly accommodates both the gray-purple tone of the pants and the large area of outer jacket layers into the frame, and the leather texture of the boots also appears quite coordinated under the light. These pictures also record a more comfortable state during this Firefly free-entry period, and I hope the sense of atmosphere in the photos and the details of the costume design can be fully experienced.
