Today, I finally thoroughly explored the Dongguan Minying International Trade Center. Walking from the subway station toward the mall, you can immediately spot a massive Qin Che ita-wall, which has a truly strong visual impact. The support stage on the second basement level is set up with great care, especially the exhibition area, where the dreamy blue-and-white background is paired with floral arrangements, alongside several life-sized standees in different styles, making it a great photo spot.
I came here today dressed in Hatsune Miku's casual outfit—blue twin tails paired with a white shirt and a grey plaid skirt, a black ribbon tied at the collar, and small leather shoes on my feet. Shopping and eating in such a high-ACG-density mall with this campus-style outfit maximized the sense of immersion, and it was also very comfortable to walk in. Next to the exhibition area, I stopped by to check out the Detective Conan check-in wall; the snowy mountain background and character standees had a great atmosphere, and I heard there's a 9.9-yuan screening event during the summer vacation, so fans can keep an eye out for it.
Weaving through the various flash mob parade groups, you could not only see cosplayer peers from popular themes like Genshin Impact and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, but also browse the newly opened merch shops on the second basement level. The ACG atmosphere here is really strong; the corridors feature fun signs, as well as ACG fan meetup points. Merch shops in International Trade Center are opening more and more, such as X11, JOUIN, and Karasuruya. The shelves filled with plush dolls, badges, blind boxes, and photo cards are dazzling. The blue big-eared plush toy I'm holding in my arms was discovered right inside the shop; its texture is extremely soft and squishy, making it super cute to hold for photos. Picking and choosing in front of the shelves, trying on cute hair accessories, and taking a few ita-bag display photos with the newly unpacked photo cards and standees—the joy of this one-stop merch shopping is truly stress-relieving.
Besides buying merch, the on-site activity arrangements are also very rich. If you want something livelier, you can wait for the evening of July 20th, when there will be a live performance by a female ACG band, which should be super lit. Shuttling back and forth in the mall today, browsing all kinds of posters, display cases, and pop-up stores, looking at the exquisite art styles covering the walls and the dazzling array of surrounding goods, I didn't feel tired at all. For people who usually love ACG culture, this is completely a check-in sanctuary where you can stay for a whole day. Dressing up in this white shirt and grey plaid skirt today, walking around in a mall full of anime elements, was actually quite lightweight and comfortable. Browsing the exhibition while buying merch, occasionally meeting peers to chat and exchange photo cards—this is the perfect way to spend a weekend.
