The theme of this shoot revolved around the high-contrast colors of yellow and white, setting an energetic and bright tone right from the makeup and styling stage. To restore the character's traits, I chose a bright yellow long wig and tied it into twin tails with hair ties. The wig is prone to reflection under strong light, so I sprayed a little matte spray during styling and matched it with a plush headband to increase the volume on top of the head. The black border and brown ear tips of the headband form a color separation with the yellow main body, making the head contour more three-dimensional. For makeup, light-colored contact lenses were used, the eyeshadow adopted a warm orange-toned smudging, and the base of the eyelashes was reinforced to match the color lightness of the yellow hair. For the lips, a glossy pink lip glaze was chosen, which can increase the overall vibrancy of the face under the light.
In terms of clothing matching, a white sailor-collar top decorated with yellow stripes was paired with a bright yellow pleated skirt, with white plush wrist accessories added at the wrists. For the lower body, yellow-and-white striped over-the-knee Stockings were chosen. Such horizontal stripes produce different visual effects with changes in leg posture in front of the lens, and when lying on the side, they can well extend the leg lines. To enrich the frame, yellow cartoon plush dolls of all sizes and red-and-blue colored spherical props were also prepared.
At the shooting site, the main light source came from an upper side position. To avoid overexposure of the white plush blanket, I lowered the camera's exposure compensation, utilizing the blanket's reflection as bottom fill light. The top-down perspective has relatively high requirements for the character's chin and neck lines, so during shooting, I tried to tuck my chin slightly, relax my shoulders, support myself on a plushie with one hand, and naturally raise the other hand close to my cheek. When holding the spherical prop with fingers, you shouldn't grip it tightly; instead, apply force with the fingertips, leaving a gap in the palm to make the movement look light. The side-lying posture requires the core to be tightened, with legs naturally bent, using the visual guidance of the Stockings to create a sense of depth in the frame.
In terms of expression management, I didn't choose an overly exaggerated smile, but instead created a sense of interaction facing the lens through a slightly open mouth combined with a gaze looking straight into the lens. During the shooting process, I would pay attention to the landing point of the gaze, ensuring that there is enough light source reflection in the eyes, which is commonly known as eye catchlights. Prop plushies not only play a decorative role in the frame, but also help adjust the balance of the frame—for example, when the character leans to one side, I would let the plushie fill the blank space on the other side. The entire shooting process, from color matching to light and shadow control, closely revolved around the lively feel of bright yellow. The mutual cooperation of clothing, props, styling, and photography parameters allows this live-action role-playing photographic work to be richer and fuller in visual presentation.
