[Denia Cosplay] The Ornate Western-Style Maiden in Wuthering Waves

The schedule for this shoot was delayed repeatedly, so I ended up treating it like a long-overdue gift. We chose a vintage-style study as our location, where background red velvet drapes and crystal candelabras, coupled with on-set smoke effects, perfectly enhanced the character's mysterious and opulent demeanor. The poses were primarily designed around the multi-layered Western-style clothing; because the puffiness of the skirt and sleeves was so pronounced, I had to continuously adjust my posture to avoid looking bulky.

The makeup focused on achieving a porcelain base and striking blue contact lens effects. Styling the long Pink hair was time-consuming; to make it drape smoothly and naturally, the ends were meticulously parted and textured. The outfit was packed with fine details—such as the oversized sapphire on the chest, a black plush teddy bear charm, crimson gloves, and criss-cross strappy heels—all of which required dedicated angles during the shoot. The most challenging aspect was coordinating the voluminous hoop skirt with the wide sleeves. Whether lifting one leg or crossing my legs while seated on the desk, we performed multiple camera tests to find the exact angles that flattered bodily proportions.

Having shot extensively, our control over lighting has matured. This time, we deliberately employed warm-toned rim lighting from the side to enrich chiaroscuro contrasts, giving the overall texture a firmer, richer feel rather than purely soft sweetness. Post-processing mainly eliminated distracting background lines while preserving the natural atmospheric haze. Adjusting the heavily strapped heels took extra time, but framed alongside the props and vintage set, the final imagery was deeply satisfying. The makeup artist's curled lashes sharply framed the gaze. Despite the physical fatigue, seeing the finished frames perfectly embody the character made every moment of waiting worthwhile.
