The final photos of this Lunar Vow: Crimson Love cosplay have finally been compiled. Before the shoot, my biggest concern was actually the integration of the red and white costume color palette with the overall lighting; after all, such a high-contrast combination can easily look messy if not controlled well. To recreate the character's cool yet subtly tender nature, the makeup intentionally toned down the eyeshadow, placing the visual focus on the red eyes and dewy lip makeup, while retaining a bit of digital texture overall.

During the shoot, quite a few props with Chinese charm were used for coordination, such as a red-and-white paper umbrella, two skewers of vibrant candied haws, and an artistic red plum blossom branch. Especially in that shot where I am lying down holding the plum branch, with a real white rabbit sitting quietly by my side as an accent, the atmosphere on set was actually much quieter than imagined. To fit the vibe of "I hate the midday sun, but I want to stay with you longer," the photographer specially used warm-toned key lighting paired with a slightly darker backdrop setting, deliberately creating an atmospheric sense of being in a private space.

The wig and costume details were also adjusted accordingly to maintain the distinct sense of layering of the original character. The tassels of the hair accessories and the flow of the wig had to be constantly adjusted during the shoot to prevent any wardrobe malfunctions or looking out of place. The white hair color required fill light against the dark background to prevent it from looking flatly white. The overall style of this set leans toward a blend of realism and fantasy, without overly exaggerated post-processing, relying more on on-site lighting to express the details. In fact, every time I cosplay a character with such a complex setup from Honkai Impact 3rd, re-examining the styling details gives me a deeper understanding of the character. This is probably the true charm of cosplay itself—turning flat 2D designs into real moments, harvesting different feelings every single time.
