Sunlight shining on the Pink wig brought about the final visual presentation of this Honor of Kings Daji cosplay. Regarding the makeup, styling, and photoshoot, I'd like to start with the cut of the costume. This dress features a striking color block of vibrant cyan and bright pink, complemented by white lace trims and pleated ruffles for immense visual impact. The off-the-shoulder design is not only a classic element of the character's costume but also flatters the neck and shoulder lines, making the overall silhouette feel lighter and airier.
For accessories, the massive pink plush animal ears on top of the head are the core of character fidelity. The plush texture creates a soft, fuzzy rim-light effect under the sunlight. Paired with a white headband and a blue-green bow, it acts as the visual anchor of the entire styling. Furthermore, the layering of the waist and skirt hem is very pronounced, incorporating a white mini-apron element with a small pink plush animal head pinned to the front, which is adorable and enriches the fine details.
The combination of white over-the-knee Cosplay stockings and white lace-up heeled sandals on the lower half is key to enhancing the character's sweetness. The white platform heels not only shape the leg lines but, together with the lace trims of the over-the-knee stockings, accentuate the visual elongation of the legs in full-body standing poses. Wearing these platform shoes outdoors in flower bushes requires careful attention to footing to avoid trampling the flora while keeping balance, ensuring the most natural one-legged standing poses during candid snapshots.
For makeup, I deliberately chose very pale ice-blue contact lenses, creating a sharp warm-and-cool contrast with the bright Pink wig. This color coordination makes the gaze appear more lively and deep, especially when sunlight creates sparkling highlights in the pupils, instantly locking the camera's focus. The base makeup maintained a clean and translucent finish, paired with soft peach lip gloss to create a playful girl vibe matching the character design.
Regarding the shooting location, we chose an outdoor grassy field bathed in bright sunshine. The sea of small yellow wildflowers across the hills complemented the character's color scheme perfectly—the harmony of yellow, pink, cyan, and white provided an exceptional natural color palette. Under ample sunlight, using a reflector was crucial to balance facial shadows and avoid harsh facial contours from strong overhead light. Additionally, using a wide-aperture lens to blur out background high-rises and trees while framing among the flowers highlighted the subject significantly, creating a fairytale-like dreamy ambiance.
In terms of posing, besides standard standing smiles, I experimented with more dynamic postures—such as lifting one leg with a slight torso twist or looking back over the shoulder toward the camera. This spatially expansive posture broke the rigidity of conventional standing poses, allowing the lace and layered fabrics of the skirt hem to sway naturally. The massive blue-green color-blocked backpack prop was not only part of the costume, but also served as a tool to adjust balance and compose the frame—whether used as a backdrop element or simply worn behind the back as a visual accent.
Looking back at these photos, the faithful details of the makeup, Pink wig, costume, and accessories were fully showcased under natural light. This photoshoot provided me with more experience in mastering character body language across various outdoor environments. I hope my cosplay sharing offers some inspiration for everyone's photoshoot journey.
