[Pingping cosplay] Black Myth: Wukong Convention photos: Intricate Details of the Red Cape and White Fox Tail

The Convention photos from the Huizhou ACGLIFE Anime & Game Exhibition have finally been sorted out. At this event, I brought Pingping cosplay from Black Myth: Wukong. The red-and-black styling looked remarkably striking under the venue's natural light, and taking advantage of the fine weather, we captured a set right in front of the glass curtain wall.

Let's first talk about the garment details. The top features a black V-neck vest patterned with dainty white floral prints, draped underneath a sheer, lightweight red gauze robe. The robe has an elegant drape; to achieve that fluttering effect captured in the photos, I tested multiple fabrics during fitting, ultimately picking this material with just the right touch of translucency without being overly sheer. The animal-fur texture on the lower body and the pale green undershorts were tailored to faithfully recreate the original design, with the blue sash and red-and-yellow knotted cords at the waist meticulously adjusted. The fluffy white fox tail is anchored via a concealed belt; although very light, moving around required minding the swing arc to keep it from tangling around my legs.

In terms of accessories, the black fingerless gloves, golden hoop bracelets, and the yellow folding fan painted with blossoming branches in my hand were all essential components of the ensemble. The hair bun at the crown was styled with firm hairspray, with a golden hairpin horizontally thrust through, accented by red tassels and green beads dangling from the right side to add lively flair. To recreate the ear silhouette, I wore prosthetic pointed ears tipped with soft white fuzz, adhering them to the sides of my ears with special adhesive. Wearing them for hours felt somewhat pinching, but seeing how gorgeous the final cuts turned out made it completely worthwhile.

For the makeup, I focused on defining the contours of the eyes and used blue pigment to paint three dots across my forehead. This huadian makeup remained vibrant even under intense illumination, rendered with crisp clarity by the camera. Walking barefoot across the convention floor was quite a challenge; red anklet cords tied around the ankles served as decorative accents, and even with carpeted floors, walking the entire day still left the soles of my feet aching.

At the pavilion, I met many enthusiastic photographers and fellow fans, with several guiding me through spirited and subtly feral poses—such as curling both hands slightly to mimic paws, or lifting one leg to display the tail. I also bumped into fellow cosplayers doing Jade-faced Fox and Red Boy, and we chatted about styling ideas. The overall atmosphere was delightfully relaxed and fun, and the hall's air conditioning was plenty cool, offering sweet relief while wearing the heavy animal-pelt props.

The visual style of this shoot leaned bright and crisp, leveraging the light and shadows filtered through the venue's blinds to produce richly layered photos. Controlling every single detail aimed at bringing the final piece as close as possible to the authentic texture of the concept art. I look forward to exploring more fantasy-infused looks like this in the future!
