In this garden blooming with hydrangeas, my partner and I completed the cosplay photoshoot of Komeiji Satori and Komeiji Koishi from Touhou Project. To fit the atmosphere of the sea of flowers, we specially chose these retro dresses featuring plenty of lace and ruffles. The workmanship of this outfit is quite exquisite, especially the stacked lace at the cuffs and skirt hem, which feels substantial when worn. The dark retro hat I wore on my head is spliced with black lace along the edge, and combined with the prop combining vines, green leaves, and a blue gemstone on the chest, all were manually fixed piece by piece to recreate the character's design as closely as possible. My partner's light-blue-and-pink alternating dress also features numerous pleats and strap designs, and the red ropes and flower props held in the chest and hands were also carefully matched.

The natural light on the day of the shoot was fantastic, with soft sunlight filtering through the leaves and flower branches, bringing a sense of translucency to the entire frame. We tried many poses among the flowers, such as lying directly on the wooden frame beside the flowerbeds, or sitting side by side on the white hollow-carved iron art bench. In terms of duo interaction, we tried our best to present a natural yet slightly lazy state. Since it's a twin setting, the echo in gaze and limbs is very important; sometimes without deliberately posing, just leaning against each other brings the atmosphere right out. To match the characters, our makeup also underwent some adjustments, focusing on the depiction of the eye makeup to hopefully reflect the characters' traits.

Lightbox cleverness was also utilized by the photographer in composition. For instance, in the shot sitting on the bench, foreground pink flowers were intentionally used for a bokeh effect, gathering focus onto us, which increased the layering of the frame and made the overall style more dreamy. The plants in the garden are very lush, and shooting inside wearing such multi-layered retro dresses is actually quite a test of physical stamina. Especially to exhibit better frame results, we needed to find balance on a narrow wooden frame while ensuring the costume's shape remained neat, constantly paying attention not to step on the skirt hem or catch our hair on tree branches. However, upon seeing the final photos, all the hard work was completely worth it. The pink-blue and yellow-green color palettes are exceptionally harmonious against the backdrop of greenery and pink-white hydrangeas, with just the right color saturation. Integrating the unique temperament of the Komeiji sisters into the sea of flowers this time is actually a very bold attempt, and we hope this stark visual collision brings a fresh visual experience to everyone.

In terms of equipment, this time we mainly used a large-aperture prime lens for shooting, which could better blur the flowers in the background into light spots and highlight the character subjects. In post-processing color grading, I deliberately preserved the original pink, white, and green tones of the hydrangeas without making overly exaggerated color shifts, mainly fine-tuning the contrast between light and dark to make the skin texture look more translucent. Since it was under outdoor natural light, uneven lighting was occasionally encountered; besides using reflectors for fill light, local facial brightening was also applied during post-processing. This cosplay work is not merely a showcase of costumes, but an attempt by us to fuse characters and scenes through the lens. From costume ironing and prop checking to on-site positioning, every single link needed careful verification.
