[Alice Margatroid Cosplay] Touhou Project Fan-Made Design Style Outdoor Fountain Photoshoot Official Cuts

This time we shot Alice Margatroid from Touhou Project, but the costume incorporates my personal understanding of a fan-made design cosplay. Instead of being completely restricted by the original work's red, white, black, and blue color palette, I tried a fresher combination of a light blue poufy dress paired with a white tights cosplay. The location was chosen at a fountain park with classical stone pillars; the splashing water scene perfectly matches the character's aura which carries a touch of magic and fairytale colors. The shoot took place right in the afternoon when the sunlight was ample, and the water droplets from the fountain formed a natural water-mist soft focus in front of the lens, adding a very translucent airiness to the entire frame. Standing on the wet masonry ground, to find a balance point and present the most stretched posture, I adopted a stance with feet crossed, my weight falling on my left leg while my right leg was lightly hooked up. This not only stabilized my center of gravity but also allowed the skirt hem to drape naturally, visually appearing lighter. The white tights and small white high-heeled shoes reflected soft highlights under the sun, which also made the leg lines appear more slender. In terms of clothing, the white flower-decorated round hat worn on the head, paired with the curled blonde wig, was the result of multiple styling adjustments I made myself. The handling of the bangs tried to fit the facial contour as much as possible to avoid the hair looking heavy. The top's strap and puff sleeve design increased the layering of the upper body, and the doll prop held in hand was moderate in size, which could very naturally become an anchor point for hand movements, avoiding the awkwardness of having hands suspended in mid-air not knowing where to put them, while also making the overall styling feel more interactive. The fan-made design culture of Touhou Project has always been very interesting, so for the makeup treatment, I also leaned toward an exquisite and clear doll style, without using overly intense colors, placing the focus on the transparency of the base makeup and the detail of the eye makeup. The photographer was highly ingenious in composition, utilizing two classical stone pillars to form a natural frame that tightly locked the visual focus onto the person. The fountain's water curtain formed a white background behind, instantly stripping the character away from the complex park environment, making the subject stand out prominently. Because the on-site temperature was high and the water vapor was very heavy, we were actually constantly wiping the lens during the shooting process to prevent water droplets from blurring the focus, but the final photos instead utilized the water vapor to create this atmosphere with a hazy beauty. The purple small flowers at the bottom were a very pleasant surprise embellishment, balancing the cool-toned blue and white of the upper half of the frame. Our post-processing color grading was also very restrained, without excessively pumping up the contrast; the focus was only placed on adjusting the character's facial glow and background highlights, preserving the natural shadows and tones. Although this look appears lightweight, the fullness of the skirt hem actually relied on a large petticoat to remain so plump, and extra care was needed when walking around to avoid getting it wet from the ground. Overall, the environment, costume, and light coordinated with great tacit understanding during the execution of these official cuts, making for a highly delightful outdoor fountain photoshoot experience.
