The photographer's lens captured the unique atmosphere of this red-and-white dress and the little pumpkin doll; this cosplay convention photos shoot at the Ziyu convention was filled with fun.

This time I cosplayed Flandre Scarlet from Touhou Project, and the costume has many restored details. The main body is a red dress with white vertical stripes on the chest contrasting with a bright yellow bow tie, adding visual layers. The skirt hem and cuffs are adorned with large areas of pinkish-white lace and ruffles. To embody the character's playful vibe, pink semi-transparent ribbons are wrapped around the arms. The lower body is paired with white over-the-knee socks and red block-heeled Mary Janes with bows. The overall red, white, and yellow color scheme looks very lively while retaining the character's signature exquisiteness.

The props section was the most fun part for me. The pumpkin-head doll held in my hands wears a black top hat, black clothes and pants, with red fabric ribbons hanging underneath. It has quite some weight to it and became the visual focus when posing. Another set of props is that curved thin rod, hanging with diamond-shaped acrylic ornaments of various colors. These colorful red, pink, yellow, green, and cyan blocks refract and reflect light under the exhibition hall lamps, adding a touch of fantasy and mystery to the entire look.

There was a heavy flow of people in the exhibition hall on the day of the shoot, but the photographer Wakaba handled it beautifully. We used the venue's square white display stands and a black folding ladder as auxiliary props to look for different camera setups and angles. The first and second photos are mainly sitting down, showcasing my expressions and the spreading effect of the skirt hem; the third one tried a low-angle shot, holding the pumpkin head above me to play with it, capturing a lively moment; the fourth one features me sitting on the black folding ladder with legs crossed, a composition that nicely presents the details of the socks and the extending sense of the posture; the fifth one is a complete full-body standing shot, making it convenient for everyone to see the full costume. Since the venue has a very high ceiling dome and bright circular spotlights, this diffused light made the convention photos look very soft, and the skin texture translucent.

Doing a Flandre Scarlet cosplay at the convention felt very immersive. Because the props are quite rich, passing photographers and fellow fans often interacted with me, and everyone's feedback on this Touhou Project character was very enthusiastic. Although this look isn't particularly heavy to wear, walking around the convention hall all day with so many props is still very physically demanding. However, looking at these finalized convention photos with their vibrant colors and slightly whimsical atmosphere, I feel all the hard work was completely worth it.

This share of convention photos is mainly to record this red pumpkin outfit and those multicolored hanging ornaments, hoping to present the character's inherently cute yet slightly tsundere and mysterious traits.
