Trees full of golden ginkgo leaves paired with backlighting make the perfect scene for an autumn date. Putting on this shrine maiden outfit and wearing this highly prominent emerald green wig reminded me of this set of light and shadow. Although the wind in the woods was quite strong during the shoot, the dynamic movement of the hair strands and the white paper streamers on the gohei being blown up conversely added a touch of lively vitality to the frame.

Let's first talk about the makeup, hair, and costume this time. The wig color chosen for this shoot is an emerald green that carries its own sense of vitality. Under the illumination of the entire light source, especially in the backlighting, the edges of the hair present a highly beautiful reflective silhouette, making the hair look fluffy and smooth. Tiny metallic pendant accessories are matched on both sides of the head, perfectly balancing the weight of the wig. The makeup is particularly suited to the character's temperament, paired with small colored contact lenses to make the eyes look spirited without appearing stiff, grasping the sense of layers beautifully. The costume has a high restoration level, featuring a modified off-the-shoulder design with a white base combined with large areas of dark blue and blue-green patchwork. The diamond geometric color blocking on the hem and cuffs is meticulously crafted, offering a rich layered feel of stacked wearing, plus the accent of red and white cord knots; everything from the clothing's tailoring to the fabric texture is fantastic.

Next, let's talk about the several sets of poses selected this time. Holding the wooden staff with paper streamers (gohei) and the white talismans written with characters are both important props for this look. When swinging the wooden staff back and forth, the streamers can naturally catch the wind to freeze-frame perfect moments due to the wind or the scale of the movements. The shot of holding a talisman and looking back is a state I love very much, carrying an approachable feeling of having just turned around to greet you, which, combined with the background of the ginkgo forest floor blanketed in golden yellow, creates a powerful color contrast in the image.

Doing an autumn ginkgo photoshoot in this kind of outdoor location is truly easy to yield great photos, because the warm golden background and the green wig are complementary colors. Additionally, the photographer accurately grasped the light source, striking a highly soft facial light that prevents the face from looking flat. The entire shoot was actually quite relaxing; there was no need to force any particularly exaggerated poses. Strolling through the woods, casually running fingers through hair, or looking up at the treetops perfectly matched the slice-of-life atmosphere of this forest.

Walking on the grass covered with fallen leaves in this costume indeed brings an inexplicable sense of immersion. Although carrying talismans and a gohei, it was more about enjoying the process of interacting with nature. This photoset overall follows a fresh and agile style without deliberately shooting it in a highly serious manner, which conversely fits the character's high-energy vibe much better. Finally, special thanks to the photographer and makeup/styling artists for their hard work and dedication, capturing many wonderful light and shadow moments as part of this Touhou Project presentation.
