[Reimu Hakurei Cosplay] Touhou Project Shoot at Longkan Wharf, Dali Erhai Lake

This Reimu Hakurei Cosplay photoshoot at Longkan Wharf, Dali Erhai Lake is finally complete, and after retouching a wide landscape shot, the result turned out even better than I anticipated. The morning light over the water changed rapidly, so we seized the golden hour right after sunrise. Considering the heavy mist by the water, I specifically chose this red and white shrine maiden outfit and matching long pole prop to enrich the frame.

I really like the composition of the first photo: black rocks and soil in the foreground, blue lake waters and trees in the background, leaving the perfect space in the center for the main subject. While shooting, I deliberately adjusted my posture to use the tension of the long staff and skirt to stabilize my balance while accentuating the leg lines as much as possible. The white tights cosplay material had high reflectivity in the crisp morning air, and the cool white light neatly distinguished the tights from the skin texture. Keeping my legs straightened and tensed not only helped me stand firmly on the rocks, but also ensured a great silhouette. The wind in Dali was quite strong, blowing the skirt and wide sleeves with dynamic motion, creating a gorgeous overall contour.

There is also a close-up shot taken from a low-angle backlit perspective. Using tree trunks in the foreground for framing, the light hitting from behind cast a golden rim around the hair strands, while a shallow depth of field blurred the water surface into sparkling patches of light. Since this intense backlighting easily causes glare, I intentionally used the tip of the prop as a visual lead-in line, coordinated with a side-profile turn of the head to create a more intense emotional ambiance.

In terms of post-processing, the wide shot mainly involved local light and shadow sculpting—brightening the overall blue tones of the water and darkening the foreground rocks so that the character's red and white stood out more in the frame. The backlit shot received a warmer, soft-focus treatment. In outdoor photography shoots like this, balancing the flow of the outfit with body posture is crucial. Posing on slippery, wet rocks was exhausting and strained my ankles constantly, but to maintain elegance and visual allure, the effort was well worth it. The slit design of the shrine maiden skirt was ideal for large movements, showcasing the lines of my legs. For hair and makeup, I specifically emphasized red eyeliner to intensify the gaze. The entire shooting experience was smooth, and I hope everyone can feel the ethereal spirit of morning Dali Erhai Lake and the aura of Touhou Project's Reimu Hakurei from this photo set.
