Sharing a set of Touhou Project Remilia cosplay on Halloween night. This time, right on the eve of Halloween, the photographer Wakaba and I completed the shooting of this Gothic style photoshoot. Because I have always believed that the combination of a red-and-black color palette and Western dresses is a natural fit for the Halloween night atmosphere, and Remilia's character setting is the ultimate solution for this holiday. The entire preparation process—from scene selection and props to makeup design—went through repeated refinement, striving to recreate that aristocratic temperament with a dangerous aura inherent to the character.

The shooting location we selected was arranged with thick, heavy iron chains, large areas of white cobwebs, and skeleton skulls and tombstones scattered everywhere, while the cross elements against the wall also enhanced the overall sense of oppression and ritual. In terms of light and shadow, we used dark red side-lighting to emphasize the leather contrast and the edges of the shadows, ensuring the frame wouldn't look completely dull, but instead possessed an ambiguous dramatic tension. The costume selected was a black-based dress with dark red jacquard patterns, featuring exquisite details. From the black lace piping at the neckline and the gem-studded necklace on the chest to the mesh gloves wound with red ribbons on the wrists, every single detail was designed to align with the core label of a vampire.

For the makeup and hair, I wore a light blue short wig with straight bangs, paired with vibrant red colored contacts. The eye makeup was sharply elongated, and a deep red with a slight glossy finish was chosen for the lips, making the entire expression look both playful and slightly sinister. Apples served as the core prop throughout the entire shooting process. The red apples were particularly eye-catching in the dark-toned studio, and I experimented with different ways of interaction, such as holding them out toward the lens, posing as if tasting them, or placing them next to my face. Among them, the shot of holding an apple with one hand to block the light source happened to let the light create a sense of fragmentation on my face, nicely baking out the dangerous aura. Lastly, there was a composition where I posed with white bones and a butterfly; the hardness of the skull and the fragility of the butterfly created a strange Gothic aesthetic against the red-and-black background.

Frankly speaking, although the shooting time wasn't long, from the start of the shoot to the final pictures, Wakaba captured agile expressions while never ignoring the detailed control over light and shadow. We worked hard to push the atmosphere to where it needed to be. If everyone looking at this set of pictures can also feel that mysterious yet slightly sweet Halloween atmosphere, then I would consider this attempt highly worthwhile. Successfully outputting this photo set wouldn't have been possible without the meticulous preparation of the entire costume, makeup, and props, alongside the photographer's cooperation. If you like this kind of combination, I will consider trying more similar themes in the future for a Vampire cosplay or general Halloween cosplay.
