[Dolia cosplay] Transforming into Honor of Kings' Mermaid Princess, a Dreamy and Translucent Summer Vibe

Shooting this set of Dolia photos, I mainly wanted to express the unique lightness and vitality characteristic of the mermaid princess. The dress features a blue-and-white gradient and wave-like pleated designs, adorned with scattered shells and pearls, along with that dangling purple vine decoration. Every single detail echoes the romantic ocean atmosphere of the official Honor of Kings concept art. For the wig, I specifically picked a sky-blue long wavy wig with water ripples texture, paired with custom starfish hair accessories and a choker, hoping to restore the character's playfulness to the best of my ability.

Instead of finding a purely dark or complex studio, the location choice this time was a self-photo studio with relatively soft decor. The light blue bedsheets, lightweight window tulle, and the blue-and-white gauze curtains in the background are highly unified with Dolia's color scheme. The translucent ocean ball prop held in my hand, coupled with the pearl necklaces scattered across the floor, added a great deal of immersion to the entire frame. During the shoot, I didn't intentionally strike exaggerated poses; I mainly sat sideways on the edge of the bed or cross-legged on the wooden floor, letting the light fall naturally onto the skirt hem and hair.

The side backlighting angle was especially important. Particularly in such a light-toned room, the reflections make the entire frame appear translucent and clean, carrying a very refreshing summer atmosphere. I feel that cosplay photography doesn't always have to be magnificent; sometimes, this kind of everyday natural light can instead unearth the character's vividness beyond just the basic setting. In the frozen moments, the mermaid princess looks as if she has just been stranded in a quiet beach cabin, and I absolutely love the overall mood. Through this Anime-style photography share, I hope to bring to life the Dolia in everyone's hearts.
