[Seele Vollerei cosplay] Sharing Joy on International Children's Day with My Favorite Character

The joy of Children's Day doesn't belong exclusively to kids, but to everyone who still keeps a pure corner in their heart. Inspired by my favorite characters Seele, Bronya, and the Bronya x Seele pairing, I took this set of photos on Children's Day as a special keepsake. As a cosplayer with plenty of outdoor shoot experience, this session was really a gift to the kid inside me who refuses to grow up, as well as the most candid confession of love for the characters I adore.

I put a lot of thought into preparing these looks. The first outfit focuses on a light and bright early-summer texture. I selected a wig featuring a gradient from deep purple-blue to bright blue tips, paired with highly translucent light blue contact lenses to create a cool, dreamlike vibe as if stepping out of a picture book. For clothing, I wore a white halter top paired with a blue-and-white plaid shirt, along with a woven straw hat featuring scalloped edging. To fit the defenseless innocence of Children's Day, I softened the contouring shadows in my makeup, keeping the base clean and radiant while emphasizing the brightness of my eyes. Paired with a flower neck piece and a beaded wrist bracelet, the overall mood felt wonderfully airy. During the shoot, the photographer specifically used soft front diffuse light to give my face a delicate porcelain-white texture, and looking at the final photos, even I felt as though I had truly returned to a carefree age.

The second look was a twin-tail hairstyle that was a little rebellious yet cute. I changed into a silver-gray wig with buns styled as fluffy as possible on both sides to highlight a quirky visual effect, accessorized with dark red cat-ear hairpieces, a standard navy blue sailor collar top, and a pink neckerchief. The essence of this styling lay in capturing the expression. To replicate that demeanor hovering between innocence and stubbornness, I intentionally lowered my brows slightly, kept the corners of my mouth level, and let my gaze drift distant. The yellow stuffed rabbit plushie in my arms served as a great prop, neutralizing the somewhat serious look while filling the selfie with lively interactivity. Anyone familiar with the character settings will immediately feel the cozy comfort of this Japanese everyday style; the moment I changed into this outfit, I felt as if I could step straight into an anime to stroll around a summer festival.

The third set used a bold red-and-black contrast. A short wig with a black-to-red gradient, coupled with red contact lenses, a wide-brimmed straw hat decorated with sunflowers, and a red-and-white plaid shirt instantly shifted my presence into something mysterious and tense—ideal for a Veliona cosplay feeling. This segment tested the use of light and shadow the most. During shooting, a red ambient light was intentionally applied from the side—a lighting technique that heavily tests skin texture and compositional balance. The red side-lighting hitting my cheeks, hair tips, and shirt plaid created a striking warm-and-cold contrast against the clean background. This rich emotional expression brought out a cute contrast gap and cool edge under the Children's Day theme. Whether wearing a white beaded necklace or adjusting the straps of the black inner top, I aimed for a lazy yet completely in-control aura.

As a cosplayer, shooting an International Children's Day cosplay set is an interesting proposition. Often, characters don't necessarily belong to this holiday, but through our styling and interpretation, we can embody the mindset that 'no matter your age, long live happiness!' The bond of Bronya x Seele, Seele Vollerei's gentleness, and Veliona's sharp edge all teach us that growing up isn't about becoming slick and cynical, but remaining capable of turning complexity into simplicity even after seeing through life's intricate realities. Although putting on makeup and managing wigs takes time, the moment all accessories are fitted and the shutter clicks in front of the lens, all tiredness transforms instantly into pure satisfaction.

This candid feeling of 'we are all kids inside' is what I hope to convey to every viewer through these photos. Ultimately, this set contains no forced ornate rhetoric or restless hype—only the most sincere dialogue between these characters and me. I hope this Children's Day joy remains preserved intact within the frames, frozen in the second the shutter clicked.
