This release features the official cosplay photo set of Seele Vollerei in her Dwelling in Eternal Night form from Honkai Impact 3rd.
Shooting this series was primarily intended to showcase the unique dimensional layering of this costume alongside a cold, mysterious ambiance. The craftsmanship of the garment is packed with details—the primary color is black, spliced with a bright blue pleated skirt hem at the bottom. The outer black satin texture reveals a restrained luster under dim, cool lighting, whereas the inner reflective blue fabric is vividly eye-catching; this interplay of darkness and brightness neatly mirrors the contradictory temperament inherent to the character's design. The costume is also adorned with golden bows and star pendants, while the collar and shoulders feature black lace and rose embellishments. Wearing it creates rich, multifaceted layers; in particular, maintaining good posture required conscious care after cinching the waist and adding the thickness of the petticoat.
For the wig, I selected a blue-purple gradient with gentle curls at the ends, requiring repeated adjustments to the curve of the bangs to flatter my facial contours. To match this ensemble, I chose translucent blue contact lenses, keeping the eye makeup cool-toned with a slight upward wing on the eyeliner to deepen the gaze. The headpiece was a major challenge in styling: the black tulle flowers combined with the sharp blue wing accessories extending from behind required finding the exact center of balance, otherwise it looked awkward whenever the camera angle shifted. The blue weapon prop was quite heavy; sustaining natural yet dynamic poses demanded continuous wrist and arm strength, leaving me to lean against the background Roman pillars during breaks.
For this shoot, we selected a set featuring sheer white drapes, white Roman pillars, and stained glass windows, with pink and blue decorative blossoms scattered across the floor. Lighting primarily utilized cool-blue side lighting, which brightened the blue elements on the wig and skirt while deepening the surrounding environment for unified color grading; this cool-toned treatment harmonized perfectly with the dark garment's texture. In lens selection, an 85mm focal length was used for both half-body and full-body shots, effectively controlling distortion while making the subject pop. Post-processing focused on color calibration—grading the background white drapes to a cooler blue-white while preserving the texture of the Black stockings, correcting color shifts common to blue-purple wigs, and ensuring the blue of the skirt remained deep and rich without glaring harshness.
For this Dwelling in Eternal Night form, I tried to embrace subtraction in expression—aiming to project solitude and mystery while retaining a touch of gentleness and resilience. This official photo set was a genuine test of understanding angles and light reflections; every detail from makeup nuance to prop arrangement required prior planning, and thorough preparation allowed for greater composure during the shoot. There is truly much worth reflecting upon from the shooting process of this set, and that concludes this photo log.
