Preparing this little 2D idol look for Phoebe from Wuthering Waves took nearly two weeks from concept selection to final styling. As the lead vocalist, Phoebe requires the stage presence and charm of a true idol to be maximized, so I poured immense effort into both fabric texture and movement design.

First, regarding the outfit: this multi-layered white dress is far from an ordinary puffy skirt; its cut incorporates a halter high-neck, delicate ruffles, multi-tier pleats, and a trailing train in the back. I deliberately picked a fabric that balances elegant drape with crisp structure, ensuring that the skirt flares into a gorgeous parasol silhouette during jumps and spins rather than clinging flatly against the body. The blue-and-yellow bow and star accessories at the chest serve as perfect finishing touches, paired with a meticulously tailored waistband that cinches the waist. For the hair, the long golden wavy locks were styled into two low twin-tails, complemented by white lace headpieces and blue cross barrettes at the temples; keeping the curls bouncy meant setting the wig well into the night before the shoot. The makeup maintained a clean, translucent base, highlighted by deepened pink blush and purple contact lenses to evoke an energetic, dreamlike aesthetic. White lace-up platform knee-high boots adorned the legs, and to add a touch of personal flair, a decorative black cross sticker was applied to the outer left thigh.

The physical toll of shooting these frames was far greater than expected. The first photo required holding up a square box wrapped in white satin ribbons; to capture the split-second where the box appears weightlessly suspended mid-air, I jumped repeatedly dozens of times, keeping both my arms and core tightly engaged to prevent the prop from dropping while maintaining an effortless, sweet facial expression. The second shot captured a complete airborne leap—the moment my feet left the ground, I had to maintain body balance while ensuring the petticoat flared out fully in mid-air, taking multiple trial runs to find the right leverage. The third setup featuring the birthday cake was an impromptu idea: the bright red strawberry cake popped brilliantly against the white dress and colorful sheer backdrops, echoing a celebratory birthday party while injecting an endearing, everyday sweetness into her lead singer identity. The fourth pose wielding the magic wand aimed to channel her poise and effortless confidence as the center stage star.

The studio arrangement was thoughtfully curated, with layers of rainbow-toned gossamer drapery complementing an oversized pink bow right at the center, alongside a lush faux flower wall on the right with soft, richly saturated colors. Spreading colorful mesh fabric across the floor added wonderful textural depth, and when the spotlights hit, the entire set looked like a magical stage straight out of a fairy tale. As a cosplayer who thrives on exploring diverse styles, I thoroughly enjoyed this shoot. Phoebe radiates immense vitality; every action—from holding props and leaping to presenting cake and waving the wand—was tailored to convey the sparkling energy of an idol on stage. Throughout the shoot, I continuously regulated my breathing and gaze to ensure direct engagement with the camera. Though physically exhausting, seeing those lively, vibrant moments frozen in the finished photos made every bit of preparation and repeated jumping completely worthwhile.
