Finally organized my Convention photo captures from Foshan CPG08! Today, I want to talk about my experiences bringing Wuthering Waves Phoebe (Solaris-3) to life.
Preparing this ensemble took immense focus before the convention. The outfit features complex tiering; to stand out amidst hectic convention lighting and heavy foot traffic, every accent needed prior styling. I reinforced the wig's straight golden bangs and side locks with extra-strength spray to resist wind, while firmly fastening the blue cross clip on the left fringe to avoid shifting.
The gown is substantial, draping layered white fabrics from neckline to hem, accompanied by pearl strands, golden star brooches, blue-and-white ribbon knots, and a metallic waist belt that each produce distinct specular highlights. Partnering with photographer Jin Feng, we avoided crowded main floor chaos and moved to outdoor industrial metal stairs. The raw steel balustrades provided an edgy architectural contrast against the elaborate fairy dress, framing the Girl in a white dress against cool concrete steps.
Diffused, overcast lighting prevented blown highlights across the white fabrics. Posing on the steps while holding the railing shifted weight forward, elongating the silhouette and showcasing the white lace-up mid-calf boots. Close-ups highlighted chest jewelry, star gems, and hand gestures near the chin, while staircase railings functioned as soft foreground bokeh to create cinematic depth. Walking in multilayered hems was physically demanding, but freezing this authentic character aura at Foshan CPG08 made every ounce of effort worthwhile.
