Before shooting this set of Cartethyia Cosplay photos, my primary focus was expressing the character's serene and somewhat sacred temperament. For location selection, I used an all-white indoor studio featuring classic Gothic arched windows in the background (White church set). During decoration, we specifically arranged an abundance of blue and white flowers and a white plush carpet, which, combined with a white throne and pillars, accentuated the cool-toned texture within the space.
In terms of costumes, makeup, and props, staying true to Wuthering Waves meant blonde hair and Elf ears (Elf ears cosplay) were essential. The semi-transparent long tulle skirt on the outer layer is very rich in texture, especially when it flares out in the wind or during poses. The inner outfit is black, slimming and ideal for tracing body contours. Due to the character design, I didn't wear stockings this time, opting for bare feet paired with gold and silver ankle chains (Bare legs anklet); this bare-legged look actually elongated the leg proportions more effectively in the frame.
During the actual shoot, adjusting poses was the most difficult part. For example, in the first photo with one leg resting on a pillar, to present the calf muscle lines in optimal form, I repeatedly shifted my center of gravity and tested several angles for the photographer to capture. Stepping directly barefoot onto the plush rug didn't offer much leverage, so keeping balance while maintaining an effortless, composed posture took quite a bit of effort.
The third photo holding a giant white picture frame was proposed by the photographer. To match the composition, I needed to sit forward on the throne while keeping my hands steady so the frame wouldn't obscure my face. The lighting for this set was bright and soft, utilizing reflectors on both sides and in front to render a translucent skin texture while giving the legs more sculpted, dimensional shadows. Post-processing focused on preserving the embroidery details of the costume without exaggerated body warping.
Although the entire shooting process was physically demanding, the synergy between lighting, scene, and props created a visual atmosphere that exceeded expectations. As a tribute to Wuthering Waves, I hope these photos allow everyone to see the quiet, elegant side of this character.
