[Asuma Toki cosplay] Blue Archive, exclusive blue and white support for sensei

Shooting this set of Blue Archive Asuma Toki cosplay photos was quite interesting from determining the concept to final image output. This time I challenged a Cheerleader uniform look; the entire outfit features a white base with blue stripes, paired with a halter-style crop top and classic pleated skirt. The top's checkerboard and blue-and-white color blocking design feel very refreshing visually, with details like the belt and small white fold-over collar all accounted for. To enhance overall texture, I also wore a blue gem-shaped pendant around my neck.

That blue and white concentric halo atop the head is the most recognizable trait of the entire styling. To give it that sci-fi, floating appearance as seen in the game, we specifically found a matching support structure for shooting to ensure it held its position stably from all angles. As a player of the original game myself, I understand how crucial the halo is for this character, so even for a small prop, a lot of effort must be invested in restoration accuracy.

In terms of prop preparation, besides the iconic halo, I also prepared yellow and white cheering pom-poms. For this photo set, I shot two different styling versions in total. The first version featured a standard standing pose requiring an upright, powerful stance—on one hand to display the pleated skirt's layering and leg lines, and on the other hand to create a color contrast between the pom-poms and the outfit's blue-and-white main tone, making the image more vibrant. The second version incorporated dynamic visual presentation with blue and white checkered long streamers swirling around, alongside captured flying confetti effects to create a momentary feel of cheering for sensei on the field. Dynamic snapshot captures tested body stability and throwing timing, requiring multiple tries with the photographer to catch the right instant.

This time, a plain white backdrop was chosen without complex sets. I feel this clean studio style is actually better suited to highlight character contours and garment details. The white lighting was also soft, displaying skin texture nicely while capturing the wig's golden strands and fluffiness without excessive post-processing, preserving authenticity in the photos.

Since this is real-life cosplay, physical expression requires considering core character traits. Asuma Toki herself carries a cool yet serious demeanor; combined with the classic line concept of "cheering for sensei", I kept my expression focused during shooting with a slightly lowered gaze to convey a reliable feel despite a slight distance. Powerful leg-lifting poses and hands gripping the pom-poms with subtle force were all meant to reflect the character's tension within static photos.

The whole shooting process went very smoothly, with both the support staff and photographer @艾蔻只会按快门 providing very professional advice, especially regarding streamer direction and aperture control, saving a lot of trouble in post-production. Looking back at camera raw files after shooting, I felt very confident in the overall result. Although this cheering outfit looks simple in cut, the pleated skirt needs to align right at the waistline to lengthen the legs; the shoes selected were white platform sneakers, which fit the athletic theme while visually stretching lower body proportions.

This was a special Cosplay photography experience, adding dynamic ribbon designs beyond conventional static standing poses to give the frame more narrative feel and atmosphere. Through this piece, I gained more practice and insight into styling sports-themed characters in Anime-style cheering, from fixing props to coordinating outfit colors and action expressiveness—honing each step gave me a deeper understanding of the character.
