[Iochi Mari cosplay] Blue Archive Sisters of Battle Orange Cat — Three Outfits Make a Shining Debut

While organizing my photo albums, I happened to come across these three sets of looks shot across different periods—from the gym uniform in April to the idol style in June, and the original nun costume in July. It felt like the perfect timing to put together a compilation to share.

Let's start with the gym uniform look. It was shot outdoors on grey stone steps. The weather was fantastic that day with strong sunlight, so we took advantage of direct backlighting to create a clean, translucent, and refreshing atmosphere. The blue, white, and yellow sports jacket and shorts are a classic color combination; holding a water bottle with an ID lanyard around my neck, the entire goal was to convey an energetic, everyday Casual cosplay vibe. The wig and animal ear headpiece blended effortlessly here, as sporty makeup doesn't need to be heavy, mainly emphasizing the crystal-clear blue eyes. The entire shoot for this set was the quickest among the three.

Next is the idol outfit from June. This set was shot on a stage set against a red curtain backdrop, with a drum kit and microphone stands behind. Compared to the freshness of the gym uniform, the idol styling was more intricate and refined. The black-and-grey tiered cake skirt was paired with a black corset belt and translucent lace sleeve warmers with a strong design sense. The lighting contrast in this scene was pronounced; the stage spotlight effect accentuated reflections off the black lace and metallic buttons. Because the skirt is fluffy and paired with a flattering black stockings style, it placed higher demands on silhouette presentation, requiring angled poses combined with holding the mic in one hand and making a cute gesture with the other to enrich the frame.

Finally, the original Sister look of the Sisters of Battle in Blue Archive. The visual presentation here was the most ornate. We specially built a giant vintage golden picture frame scene, decorated around with white Roman column planters, white-and-green floral bouquets, candles, and a wooden frame featuring the character illustration. Sitting inside the picture frame, I wore the nun habit with a white base and black shoulder cape, paired with a bright blue bow tie, white veil headpiece, and black platform shoes. The gold trim on the white socks was very delicate. This set had the highest shooting difficulty: sitting inside the frame demanded great control over body curves and posture stretch. We had to ensure the candles and illustration framed the subject nicely while maintaining a focused gaze and gentle expression. With white dominating the frame, post-color grading leaned high-key and bright, striving for an oil painting-like sacred texture.

The makeup was centered around the blue eyes throughout, with subtle tweaks for each scene. The outdoor gym set favored a sheer, dewy glow; for the idol outfit under strong stage lights, the eyeshadow was darkened slightly to enhance facial three-dimensionality. For the original nun look sitting inside the frame with plenty of soft lighting, facial highlights and smile-line shadows were refined and brightened.

Looking back at this Iochi Mari cosplay journey over the past half year, the dynamism of the sportswear, the stage presence of the idol outfit, and the dignity of the nun habit all blended seamlessly. This spirited ginger-cat character is truly suited for showcasing across diverse outfits. From the star ornaments, straps, to the nun veil details, every styling required verifying the placement of the wig and animal ears to prevent misalignment during crucial shots. Sharing all three looks together for her birthday is both a precious milestone and a summary of my photography progress. I'll continue to explore more exciting themes and concepts moving forward.
