The inspiration for this outfit stems from fusing techwear aesthetics with subculture elements. Because it is an Original cosplay without the constraints of specific character canon, there was immense creative freedom in color palette and textural clashes. The core palette was anchored in black and pink; the Pink short hair bob inherently delivers a strong visual punch. To harmonize with this hair color, I specifically chose blue-toned contacts, utilizing warm-cool contrast to give the eye makeup extra luminescence and depth. For the base makeup, blush coverage was emphasized—generously blending pink tones effectively channeled an anime-inspired vibe. A silver cross-sword hairpin was clipped to the side, introducing a crisp, metallic edge to the ensemble.
Layering the garments was the centerpiece of this shoot. For the top, a textured ruched grey short-sleeve shirt was layered beneath a black leather bustier—the sleek sheen of leather versus the matte fabric created a striking tactile contrast, harmonizing with the overall Black leather jacket aesthetic. Around my neck, a pink-and-black beaded necklace tied the head styling to the black chest area seamlessly. For bottoms, I chose a black leather mini-skirt adorned with metallic chains and side straps; to temper the hardness of the leather and Black leather jacket, I paired them with pink knit slouch socks and wore a black leather leg ring on my thigh, creating Leg ring slouch socks styling. The pink slouch socks echoed the hair color while introducing rich detail and dimension to the legs, preventing the look from feeling monotonous. Holding black sunglasses and draping an oversized white jacket added effortless nonchalance and visual dimensionality.
The shoot took place in a studio equipped with a black backdrop and overhead lights. The first close-up selfie was mainly to showcase makeup and hairstyle nuances; posing with a right-hand salute added dynamic tension and playful energy to the shot. The second full-body picture was a mirror selfie, which heavily tests framing composition. Holding the phone in front of the face partially conceals expressions while shifting the focal weight toward the Techwear outfit styling, simultaneously reflecting full-body proportions in the mirror. During shooting, extra care was taken to avoid intense glare from overhead lights in the mirror, adjusting body angles so both the leg ring and slouch socks (Leg ring slouch socks) appeared completely in frame. Rather than wearing the white jacket fully, it was nonchalantly draped off one shoulder—preserving the fitted silhouette of the Black leather jacket while inserting a bright block of white between black and pink, enhancing overall visual breathing room.
The greatest joy of an Original cosplay lies in constructing a persona entirely guided by one's own aesthetics, unbound by canon—even a simple patchwork of contrasting textures can spark distinctive visual chemistry. This styling is wonderfully suited for convention photos or personal aesthetic shoots; while a bit bold for daily wear, it commands an entirely distinct presence before the lens. From inception to final presentation, the journey of tweaking every detail of makeup, hair, and Techwear outfit was pure joy, which is the very essence of pursuing original styling.
