[Jane Doe Cosplay] Cat Thiren Under White Studio Light and Shadow from Zenless Zone Zero - Image 2

Standing in a pure white cyclorama studio wearing this Jane Doe cosplay set is in itself a task that demands deep concentration. Facing this photo set completed against a plain white backdrop, I'd like to share the details behind this styling from the perspective of costume texture and character presentation with everyone following these images. Because a White studio photography environment is exceptionally clean without redundant background distractions, every seam line, every ornament, as well as the beast ears and tail props on my body, are magnified under the studio lights. This required us to strive for ultimate perfection in materials and craftsmanship during creation and prep.

Let's first discuss the hardcore elements of the attire. This light blue and white cropped jacket not only features the character's iconic Techwear outfit design, but the white fleece loop trim along the edges also adds a touch of softness to the street style. However, putting it on and taking it off takes considerable effort because of the silicone-textured shoulder armor decorations, which must align with the black inner straps. The white lettering printed on the straps serves both to recreate the character's visual design and to provide crucial support for the upper body's weight. The lower half's patent leather shorts offer excellent reflectivity under studio lighting; while aesthetically striking, this material fits very tightly, requiring extra caution during large movements when paired with sheer lace-trimmed stockings to prevent accidental exposure. High-elasticity stockings blend smoothly with skin tones, creating a refined visual transition between dark leather shorts and stockings.

The black short-hair wig was styled into layered texturing that matches the character image. Paired with fluffy red-and-white beast ears beside the temples, donning it instantly brought out the character's blend of wildness and calm, capturing her clever Cat Thiren spirit. The black tail behind me served as the centerpiece of this look, featuring a red syringe- or arrow-shaped tip. Worn via waist harness support, shooting required constant attention not only to its curling arc but also to adjusting weight balance to prevent an unnatural droop. Gray fingerless tactical gloves on my hands preserved finger dexterity while allowing me to firmly grip the massive pair of silver scissor props.

The prop combination for this shoot was exceptional. The pair of giant scissors carried a distinct mechanical and destructive aesthetic, with vibrant red handles and silver blades boasting an irregular matte finish. Under pure white lighting, the silver blade reflections appeared razor-sharp, forming a powerful visual focal point. To match the character's confident and slightly relaxed demeanor, I held the scissors with both hands while weaving yellow-and-black caution tape across the foreground. The caution tape wasn't merely wrapped around; used as foreground layering, its intersection with my body created rich spatial depth, enhancing story tension without obscuring key facial and costume features.

Regarding studio lighting setup, the photographer intentionally utilized cool rim lights from both left and right sides, creating a dreamlike overexposed edge effect. This high-key illumination striking the light-colored jacket and skin made the subject appear almost luminescent, aligning wonderfully with the signature color palette of Zenless Zone Zero. Posing-wise, I performed several forward-leaning poses and single-hand tape-hooking motions in tandem with the caution line. When shooting characters with rich props and floating elements, maintaining fluid body posture alongside a composed facial expression is the biggest challenge. Thankfully, the quiet atmosphere of the white studio provided a perfect space to focus on character building, resulting in final photos that preserved the character's cool nature while delivering striking visual impact.
