[Gilberta Cosplay] Arknights: Endfield, Tactical Research Style Maximized

Wearing this tactical research style outfit of Gilberta from Arknights: Endfield brings an instant sense of immersion. The studio chosen for this shoot combines the scenes of Dorothy and Di Jiang, and the overall setup is reproduced highly accurately. Especially the light and shadows interweaving the industrial and experimental environments in the background, it directly dimensionalizes the character's research setting.

The process of putting on this equipment actually took quite a while. Starting from the animal ear headpiece at the top and its black metal decorative plates, I had to carefully adjust the angles to ensure a natural blend with the hairstyle. The hair is a specially treated brown color, styled into two braided tails with pink highlights, which, combined with the contouring makeup, creates a visual effect that is both sharp and possesses a mechanical texture. The core of this costume lies in the splicing of techwear style and tactical elements. The black hard collar at the neck, the grey geometric patchwork design on the chest, and the black long gloves wrapped around the arms are each tightly aligned with the character's tech-profiled temperament.

This time, I specially selected two photos from different perspectives to share. The cover features a lower-body focused viewpoint, heavily highlighting the pairing of black chunky-heeled tactical boots and black leggings. The boots themselves possess numerous details, including multi-strap buckle designs, zipper metalware, and folded cuffs. The heel height and rugged serrated soles bring a strong sense of power visually, which, paired with the wrapping sensation of the black tights, constitutes the layers of coordination that many techwear outfit enthusiasts love. The ground consists of clean, highly reflective white floor tiles, forming a cold sci-fi tech atmosphere alongside the massive white research instrument behind.

The other full-view photo captures the indoor research desk scene. We utilized real microscopes, experimental flasks on the desk, and the large data-monitoring screen hanging in the background to form an excellent shooting environment. Sitting on a white round stool with my back to the camera, the natural backward glance gesture happens to showcase the entire structure: a device resembling a control panel is mounted on the side of the black tactical belt, while that highly saturated red coat lining and hemline on the lower body is exceptionally dynamic amidst the dominant black tone, adding character tension on top of the cold detachment. The macro lens on the desktop records the material details of the clothing, as well as the metallic luster of the accessories on the gloves and shoulder straps; the texture turned out unexpectedly well.

The studio's lighting technician provided highly even light positions, not completely relying on flat lighting to eliminate structural depth, but rather creating highlight reflections on the patent leather surface of the tactical boots, leather seams, and mechanical device surfaces, allowing the black and grey gear to display a realistic volume. Additionally, the cooperation with the photographer was exceptionally seamless this time. The person behind the lens, OhYeahPS, even ran out of memory while editing, which goes to show the massive amount of material for this cosplay photography set, and also proves everyone's high quality demands for this setting.

Shooting this type of cosplay that focuses on tactical gear rather than gorgeous dresses heavily tests body control. The supporting feel on the neck and waist from wearing heavy gear for a long time becomes very obvious, but when you are inside this clear and cold lab, looking at the surrounding data panels and flask equipment, you naturally step into the role, feeling like a tactical specialist stationed in a research institute. To capture that just-right research atmosphere in this set of photos, we stayed in the studio for several hours, repeatedly adjusting standings and angles, and the final selected unedited photos were already very solid.

As a cosplay attempt leaning toward hard-core techwear outfits and a research setting, this set of photos has almost no redundant or complex decorations. It relies entirely on the tailoring of the clothing, the tarnished finish of the accessories, and the cool-toned light source inside the studio to hold up the form and spirit of the character. Compared to many complex and gorgeous works I've shot before, this time brings a more serene, sharper sense of crisp efficiency instead. There are more different angles from this studio coming up, and I hope to thoroughly display this tactical research style temperament against the backdrop of cold data screens and laboratory instruments.
