[Anby Demara cosplay] The Zenless Zone Zero Girl Under Urban Neon

The night was in full swing, with red street taxis casting sharp reflections and the blurred neon signs of the distant commercial district forming the entire backdrop of today's photo set. The character I cosplayed this time is Anby Demara from Zenless Zone Zero. The striking color block of neon green and black across the styling exudes a strong techwear edge; shooting such a street-styled character against real-world night locations creates an incredible atmosphere for this Street night view shoot.

First, let's talk about the outfit styling. The top features a spliced patchwork design, combining a black hooded cropped vest with neon green accents, worn over a simple white cropped undergarment that exposes a subtle waistline—clean, sharp, and effortlessly cool. The lower half features a high-waisted black pleated mini-skirt paired with dark Over-the-knee stockings on the legs, adorned with custom prints and strap details that add rich dimension to the silhouette. On the arms are detached, oversized black sleeve warmers paired with finger-slitted gloves; whether holding props or striking simple poses, the visual tension of this Techwear outfit is maximized.

In terms of accessories, the over-ear headphones with yellow ring markings serve as the soulful signature piece, flawlessly recreating the character's traits. I also brought along a sizable tactical backpack prop in black and green with white circular accents, which projected a sleek mechanical texture under nighttime illumination. Because the backpack had some weight to it, maintaining poses throughout the shoot took a bit of endurance, but it was absolutely worth it for the final look. The wig is a silver-white bob with blunt straight bangs; under the camera flash at night, it created a vivid and cyberpunk-infused color clash against the background's red, blue, and yellow neon lights.

During street photography, location selection is paramount. Here, the red taxi was far more than just a vehicle—it acted as an exceptional reflector and background prop. Leaning against the roof, resting along the car body, or standing next to roadside guardrails allowed me to blend naturally into this bustling yet subtly solitary Street night view. Master photographer Doudou's Lanlin managed the light and shadow with great precision; rather than relying solely on ambient city lights, targeted fill lighting sculpted three-dimensional facial contours and rendered skin tone luminous and translucent. This created a strong visual contrast against the creamy background bokeh, locking the viewer's focus squarely onto the character.

Many people note that Anby carries an innate deadpan calmness, and this gap-moe trait gave me plenty of creative freedom during shooting. Bringing a character to life in cosplay isn't just about assembling costumes and wigs—it requires finding the character's intrinsic rhythm through expressions and subtle gestures. When standing still, letting your gaze glaze over slightly while looking into the lens, adjusting the headphones, tilting your head marginally, or lightly tugging at the collar drawstrings all enrich the frame with authentic vitality and storytelling nuance.

Shooting on the street at night is never easy, given the complex lighting and constant flow of pedestrians and cars. Fortunately, our shoot was very efficient, capturing fantastic candid moments during vehicle pauses. Post-processing preserved the cinematic filmic grain and mood unique to nighttime cities, allowing the neon green Techwear outfit to serve as the dazzling visual highlight across the low-key environment.
