Robin makeup test! I set up a simple scene in my home studio and snapped a few casual shots, wanting to instantly swap the exhaustion of a Thursday for the laid-back relaxation of the weekend. The details of this look are actually much more intricate than I imagined. For example, the golden halo on top of the head is made with a matte metal texture. To prevent it from reflecting harsh glares under the lights, I specially adjusted the surface spraying process. Together with the white feather hair accessories on both sides, it can be fixed in place without squashing the wig style. The wig chosen is a light blue with a gray undertone. When trimming it, I intentionally left a little bit of airy frizz so that it would have a slight fluttering effect when moving around, rather than looking stiff like a typical wig. The white semi-sheer tulle skirt of the outfit is extremely lightweight, and the layering of the lining is crucial—it needs to ensure a sense of security for daily wear while letting the flash catch that hazy beauty that subtly outlines the silhouette. The deep blue ribbons are a visual focal point of this outfit; the material is quite crisp, so they naturally spread out during movements, forming a nice, straight drape without sticking flat or limp to the body.
The shooting environment was just at home, but the texture of this reflective floor is surprisingly good. Stepping on it barefoot creates a clear reflection, adding a layer of water-ripple-like spatial depth to the originally flat photos. During the makeup test, I grabbed a transparent swim ring and amber sunglasses nearby as props. Actually, I mainly wanted to break the overly sacred, untouchable ethereal vibe of the character itself, adding a bit of summer vacation lifestyle. The poses were very relaxed—reaching out, plucking flowers, casually bending knees. Paired with that black folding chair, it just anchored the large areas of white and light blue, bringing the visual focus back to the character herself. Robin's personality in the story is gentle and healing, so I tried to subtract from the eye makeup and expressions, using a low-saturation pinkish-orange as a base, focusing on making the eyelashes distinct so the eyes enlarge naturally without forcing expressions. The light illuminated the tulle skirt to give it a semi-transparent texture. There was barely any post-editing; these casual and clear shots are perfect for posting over the weekend.
