[Komeiji Koishi cosplay] Touhou Project Convention Visit and Break at the maimai DX Booth

The line for maimai DX was far too long, so I decided to pause around the booth area and take some photos while waiting. The venue was packed with people, and the beat of rhythm games echoed constantly, with the ambient air filled with the bustling excitement of a 2D-loving weekend. Although I couldn't get on a cabinet machine just yet, standing in this atmosphere brought a unique sense of participation. I'm quite satisfied with today's Komeiji Koishi cosplay outfit—a mint-green short wig paired with a large black wide-brimmed hat and an eye-catching yellow bow. Under the purple ambient lighting, the color contrast was vivid, evoking a mysterious yet energetic vibe. The wig bangs were carefully trimmed to flatter my face shape, and combined with green contact lenses, that cool yet curious gaze came out perfectly.

For clothing, I selected a pale yellow top adorned with black lace elements; rich layers of lace folds around the collar and cuffs visually enhanced the outfit's grandeur. The dark blue sphere ornament on the chest connects to a blue flexible cord—though simple, the detail restoration is spot-on, while the pink tubing extending downwards coiled casually around my legs, adding a touch of casual street feel. The skirt uses a deep green fabric trimmed with black lace and gold borders, preserving the character's mystery while blending wonderfully with the dreamy purple light environment at the convention. Wearing a Black tights outfit with platform black leather shoes not only maintained top-to-bottom color harmony, but also visually elongated my legs in front of the camera, yielding a high photo success rate for this Anime convention cosplay.

To showcase more design details of this costume, I tried several different poses in front of the booth. Holding the hat brim with both hands highlighted upper-body delicacy, while spreading my arms or sitting down with crossed legs presented the green skirt and shoes completely to the camera lens. I especially recommend a sitting pose like in Photo 3—naturally relaxed while creating a fantastic visual extension between black platform shoes and tights, making one look cozy without losing the character's mysterious agility. The purple ambient light hit the hat and wig just right, forming a soft halo that brought out a vibrant anime atmosphere.

The two character standees in the background were colorful—the purple-toned character standee on the left and the blue-and-white standee on the right created a great cool-warm contrast with my outfit, forming a perfect 3D booth backdrop. Especially eye-catching were the bright yellow signage boards behind me with phrases like "Use the touch panel to play!" and "Show your QR code to the scanner!", which brought an authentic sense of interactive excitement from the event, adding a unique narrative texture to the photos.

I was previously worried that crowds would prevent me from grabbing official merch freebies, but unexpectedly I got the official mousepad smoothly. This little merchandise is surprisingly practical, featuring a smooth surface and crisp printing that feels highly collectible for us fans of Touhou Project and rhythm games. While I occasionally poke fun at machine difficulty, scheduling, or new version updates in my daily gaming life, seeing this generous and high-quality freebie means I shouldn't constantly tease SEGA and Wahlap; this official effort deserves praise for putting full sincerity into merchandise.

Although it hasn't been my turn for maimai DX yet, capturing this set of photos in front of the booth feels like achieving half of today's goals. Walking through an anime convention in such a recognizable costume makes it easy to meet fellow fans; seeing familiar elements, everyone exchanges tacit nods or glances, creating a comfortable sense of camaraderie unique to the community. Amidst various displays, props, and backdrops, the immersion of Komeiji Koishi cosplay felt fantastic. Ultimately, I selected this main photo with centered composition framing the character perfectly in the middle—the Black tights outfit and platform shoes looked textured under the lights, displaying details just right, making it my favorite shot of the day.
