The location for this shoot was chosen in the back seat of a car. Although the space was cramped, the natural light passing through the car windows left a halo on the pink hair, creating an unexpectedly atmospheric feel. To fit the temperament of Komeiji Satori, I spent a lot of time thinking about the overall makeup and prop coordination. I selected a bright-colored short bob wig with thick straight bangs, which nicely contoured my face and focused attention on the brow and eye area. The headband was specially chosen with pink frills and pale yellow decorative accents, blending with the wig to make the visual effect more three-dimensional and full.
In terms of makeup, I used a fair shade for the base to create a light, translucent, and slightly ethereal skin texture. Eye makeup was the center of the entire look—I used pink-purple eyeshadow for a large area of blending, lengthened and thickened both top and bottom eyelashes, and paired them with Red colored contact lenses to instantly make the gaze deep and penetrating. The key to this big-eye makeup technique lies in the lower eyelid: slightly extending and darkening the outer lower corner and aegyo sal area enhances a sense of innocence and focus, fitting the character's trait of seeming casual yet seeing through everything.
For the costume, I picked a blue doll dress with intricate patterns. The collar featured layered white lace and pearl details, while a large white flower on the chest formed a striking color contrast with a pink bow. Brooches made of multiple spliced gemstones adorned the shoulders, making the dress look elaborate without being monotonous. The coordination logic was \"soft contrast\"—pairing a large area of pink-and-blue color blocking with pure white fits the slightly fairytale art style of the Touhou Project series while delivering strong visual impact in an everyday car setting.
The core prop this time was the long red cord with the red eyeball attached at the end. It was not just an accessory; it served to guide visual focus in the composition. I intentionally let the red cord drape down from my shoulder, connecting to the large eyeball prop in my hand. Under the light, the reflective parts of the eyeball prop presented a 3D and vivid texture. This red cord created a powerful material collision with the soft, sweet fabric of the Cosplay outfit, echoing the character's slightly eerie and mysterious setting traits. Holding this prop or placing it gently on my knees while leaning against the window or turning my head produced a natural, relaxed demeanor.
Shooting inside a car has both advantages and limitations. The limitation is being confined around the seat with restricted movement; however, the advantage is that car windows act as giant softboxes. Especially when outdoor light is strong, the light refracting through the car window often carries a purple-red hue, extending the color tone of my pink wig and Red colored contact lenses, wrapping the entire frame in a dreamy filter. During makeup styling, I reinforced dark details—such as highlighting the inner eye corners and deepening shadows under the brow bone—so that even under complex car lighting, facial bone structure remained defined, making features look exquisite in this Anime-style photography set.
As character settings integrate into real life, shooting a set like this is also a re-examination of the character's core. That mysterious aura—seemingly distant yet surging with undercurrents—was what I most wanted to convey in this private shoot. Recreating a character's demeanor in my own way on real car seats, relying not on flashy post-processing effects but on light, shadow, outfit, and body expression, is where the purest joy of cosplay lies.
