This custom loungewear JK styling for Seed marks my second take on the character, and compared to the first round, I made several refinements to the garment details and overarching mood.
The top keeps the sailor collar design, though I swapped the necktie for a polka-dot version to echo certain nuances from the canon art. The pale-blue tone feels refreshing, and the pleated skirt was carefully pressed to maintain crisp structure while seated and interacting with props. The wig had its bangs trimmed and was tied into low twintails. To match the character's temperament, I chose blue contact lenses and emphasized the aegyo sal and blush in the makeup to bring out that subtle, playful charm.
The shoot took place in a white cyclorama studio. To match the home loungewear concept, I brought a white plush blanket, which softened the frame while making languid poses effortless. The nearby mini white desk fan, retro alarm clock, and bubble tea cup introduced lived-in, everyday textures. The white rabbit plushie wearing a black bow tie around its neck served as the true highlight, proving natural and intuitive to handle during poses. A bouquet of yellow roses broke up the vast expanse of cool whites.
For posing, I referenced relaxed domestic routines. Perching sideways on the blanket with legs crossed displayed the pairing of white stockings and chunky black platform loafers, visually elongating the leg lines. Lounging prone while holding the plushie conveyed an easygoing state of relaxation. With the airy, luminous light of the white studio, a minor white balance tweak in post yields a remarkably clean image.
The hardest part of DIY custom outfits is preserving the character's core identity while adapting to the chosen scene.
