Today I cosplayed Phrolova, and this styling took far more time than anticipated. I began sorting the wig at 6 AM; trimming the short silver hair to achieve layered texture required real patience. To align with the character's aloof demeanor as a silver-haired girl, I spent ages tweaking the hair flow and fluffiness. For the base, I aimed for a fair matte finish, blending reddish-brown eyeshadow around the outer corners of the eyes and pairing it with light gray colored contacts to evoke a sense of detachment in my gaze. The lip makeup was a muted, lower-saturation red, leaving me genuinely pleased with the overall makeup finish.

For the wardrobe, the red neck scarf paired with a white bandeau top, with the golden cross necklace serving as the pivotal detail illuminating the whole look. To enhance dimension, a red ribbon wrap was added to my right arm. The most demanding element was actually the bouquet of red spider lilies prop held in my hand. To recreate the slender, curled filaments, I constructed a wire armature, wrapped in red velvet fabric and fine threads, spending three full days tweaking it until it achieved that visual sense of blooming and sprawling outwards. When assembling it at the convention venue, with so many floral branches, I was quite worried they would tangle, but fortunately the final layered effect had stunning dramatic tension.

The convention hall was massive and bathed in abundant natural light, which also meant sweltering heat. Navigating the hall in this relatively lightweight Anime cosplay attire was much easier than donning heavy armor, yet still required clutching a handheld mini fan at all times to preserve the makeup. Walking around seeking photo spots, I was frequently stopped by fellow fans and photographers—everyone was incredibly kind. When shooting in cluttered areas, I sought spots with depth or clean white walls as backdrops to keep the composition tidy. I really loved the overall mood of this shoot: in a luminous, transparent setting, the high-contrast aesthetic dominated by black and red felt remarkably striking for these Convention photos.

To embody Phrolova's emotional presence, I intentionally dialed back dramatic movements during shooting, relying instead on subtle tilts of the head and eye expressions to convey her state. This posed quite a challenge for me, as I usually rely on sweeping dynamic poses to energize frames. In front of the camera, I tried letting my gaze drift, focusing on a distant point to let the photographer capture quiet moments rich with narrative depth. When shooting along the sun-drenched outdoor corridors, strong sunlight cast prominent glare across the silver wig, requiring reflector boards to lift facial shadows and maintain sharp facial definition. I am deeply fond of how the final photos turned out today, with the contrast between the red props and silver hair rendered with crystal clarity in this Phrolova cosplay from Wuthering Waves.
