For this Kuchiba Chisa shoot, we selected a high-rise rooftop with an expansive view. The sun was intense on the day of the shoot, requiring us to work under harsh direct sunlight; thus, processing the final images into a cool-toned, high-key overexposed style suited both the character and the environment seamlessly. The rooftop wind was strong, which worked to our advantage by naturally catching the hair and skirt hem, resulting in a high hit rate of good frames despite constantly having to fix messy locks. The costume featured a cropped sailor top layered with a grey-blue techwear jacket, paired with black thigh-highs and a pleated skirt. The layering of the outer jacket added rich dimension to the faithful outfit design. As for props, we brought a red-and-black gradient greatsword; while wielding it under direct heat was physically demanding, it delivered tremendous visual presence in camera. The thigh-highs looked particularly striking in the wind, naturally flattering leg lines across varied poses—from sitting along the edge to standing postures and forward thrusting sword-strikes. The photographer tracked hair movement and lighting angles carefully, frequently using burst mode to freeze spontaneous wind-swept frames. A character like Kuchiba Chisa inherently carries an austere, resolute aura that resonates cleanly with the cold, rigid lines of city skyscrapers. Balancing the sunlight's direction, we composed the frame so structural building lines guided the viewer's eye straight toward the subject. Relying primarily on ambient natural light to build a crisp, airy mood, the Long straight black hair and red ribbon paired with the cropped silhouette felt remarkably vibrant under rooftop illumination. Overall, it was a smooth, rewarding shoot that brought the character's cold elegance to life.
