The location selected for this photoshoot was an open suburban park featuring wooden boardwalks and lush vegetation. Light in mid-April was extremely clear, with afternoon sunlight filtering through intertwining tree canopies onto the ground and boardwalk. These naturally formed light dapples fitted the tree-shadow atmosphere we aimed to create for this Genshin Impact scene perfectly. To achieve optimal color restoration for this Outdoor portrait session, we scheduled shooting between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, ensuring overall lighting remained soft without harsh glare.

For Hanachirusato's red-and-white outfit, the fabric selection leaned toward a cotton blend with a certain thickness, ensuring the garment maintained a natural drape when walking or sitting outdoors for extended periods rather than looking stiff. Waist ropes and red sleeve piping were adjusted multiple times to fit body proportions. As for the key Fox mask, we custom-ordered it from an artisan; beyond faithfully recreating the white base with red patterns, anti-slip padding was added inside to prevent shifting during close-up shots. Lumine cosplay featured her signature sleek silhouette, where white-and-blue paneling created an unmistakable visual focal point on the green grass. The blonde wig was trimmed at the tips, which, paired with clear eye makeup, radiated a natural luster in the sunlight.

During the shoot, we focused on recreating the sense of story-driven interaction. Especially across several shots on the wooden boardwalk where the two stood facing each other, combined with diamond exclamation point effects added in post-production, it instantly brought back the familiar feel of triggering a quest in-game. Another core visual featured Hanachirusato adjusting Lumine's hair ornament; we tested several hand placements to ensure the frozen moment conveyed tenderness without obscuring Lumine's facial expression. Furthermore, inspired by Hanachirusato's dialogue imagery of 'morning dew quickly evaporating,' we used post-synthesis double-exposure techniques on the grass, adding a surreal dreamlike touch that imbued the photos with a sense of character destiny alongside their bright, refreshing baseline.

While the weather was wonderful, outdoor bugs were quite numerous, particularly near the bushes. To save time, everyone minimized gaps between scene changes and pre-planned camera positions along the boardwalk and grass. Notably, while the metal wire mesh on the boardwalk railing added depth to the scene, composition required careful attention to avoid cluttered lines. We used telephoto lenses to pull characters closer while appropriately blurring the background, thereby highlighting Hanachirusato and Lumine as primary subjects without background noise interfering with visual focus.

The final color grading controlled overall saturation without overly crushing highlights, retaining the natural green of trees and grass. White, red, and blue costume color schemes looked much more textured against this low-saturation environment. Shooting this set with my partner, our shared understanding of character relationships within the Genshin Impact world allowed seamless coordination in expressing subtle emotions. Forest settings often grant characters a more vibrant sense of breathability, making it easier to evoke an open-world atmosphere than monochrome studio backdrops. Hopefully, this record conveys the gentleness of the Traveler and Hanachirusato's brief intersection on Narukami Island.
