Putting on this custom ensemble with its Furina-inspired blue-and-white Blue dance track palette, and facing Guangzhou's muggy weather today, I decisively decided to leave the outer coat at home and head straight to the convention lightweight. Many asked if wearing such layered skirts was hot, but despite the multi-layered design, the fabrics were chosen from breathable, airy chiffon and mesh. Combined with today's refreshing blue-and-white tone, it actually created a visually cooling effect.
The overall styling was fresh yet richly textured. The wig used a whitish light-blue long curly hair, styled into a voluminous high ponytail. Atop my head rested a deep blue mini crown with metallic details alongside the iconic crescent hair piece; running around all day, the hair actually maintained its airy bounce, which truly tested the wig's quality and setting spray. For makeup, to complement a doll-like cool elegance, the base was applied sheer with a focus on matte texture, while eye makeup featured soft pinkish blending paired with vivid blue contact lenses. Under the chaotic lighting of an anime convention, this made my gaze pop brilliantly while harmonizing skin tone seamlessly with the white attire.

I really wanted to capture an airy, floating feel this time—whether it was the mid-air jump action or being lifted off the ground for snapshots, it heavily tested the photographer's quick captures. Especially in the frames flicking the long ponytail, the photographer precisely captured the flowing arc of hair in mid-air. Shooting motion shots requires tight control over lighting and shutter speed; a bit too dark and the high ponytail turns into a blurry blob. That this photo set preserved fabric texture while keeping shadow outlines crisp under complex convention hall lighting shows true professionalism.
As for the Original character setting tweaks, while retaining core classic elements—like blue-and-white color blocking, gold jewelry chains, and lace knots at the chest and waist—I made subtle adjustments. I rendered the dark blue bows more prominent and expanded skirt layering for extra volume. The beauty of this custom design is being able to run around under the blazing convention sun without worrying about dirtying delicate original accessories. Plus, short socks and black leather shoes beneath the skirt not only eased movement, but added a touch of playful, youthful charm.
Some say cosplaying heavy characters in summer is pure torture, but when fully immersed in the character state, the breeze generated as the skirt sways actually cuts through the heat. Without restrictive inner linings, movement was completely free—I could almost run around the venue all day.
Every cosplay photoshoot is no simple task; one must balance setting fidelity, wearability, and camera aesthetics without sacrificing basic comfort for looks. No matter how great an outfit is designed, if the cosplayer feels miserable, their expression turns stiff. Making deliberate trade-offs in makeup and fabric choices yielded a refreshing, agile presence that I'm thoroughly happy with. Though crowds were thick at the convention, capturing this set of blue-and-white Convention photos felt like curing an entire summer's heatwave with cool, serene colors.
