[Navia cosplay] Fontaine's Yellow Rose in Karaoke: A Self-Styled Custom Outfit Light Vintage Daily

Last month, I met up with a few old friends at a karaoke lounge to unwind, originally just planning to hang out and test a newly bought fill light. Before heading over, I happened to put together a custom outfit incorporating Navia elements, so I thought I'd snap a few casual shots in the room.

The karaoke booth environment turned out to be much easier for a Karaoke photoshoot than expected. Behind me was a light purple wall paired with a deep blue leather booth; this slightly higher color saturation really brought out the warm-toned hair and makeup. The overall ambient light was soft and avoided the instability of outdoor natural lighting. This atmosphere is perfect for half-body close-ups. This on-screen styling didn't follow the extravagant, big-skirt route of her original design, but rather made some daily-life adjustments based on a custom outfit direction, focusing on exquisite jewelry and face makeup.

For the wig, I picked a light golden-beige long curly wig. The sheen of the hair strands looked very soft under the reflection of the booth ceiling lights, giving off a retro doll-like vibe paired with wider straight-cut bangs. The key sneaky detail was the hat: I selected a black wide-brimmed high-top top hat decorated with black and deep blue fabric roses, with a sapphire metal badge pinned to the side. A wide black satin ribbon draped from the brim, perfectly framing the side lines of my face and adding layers to the headpiece.

Since the lower half wasn't captured in full-body shots, visual attention was directly focused on the upper body. The top featured a textured black short-sleeved design with a slightly loose neckline that exposed the collarbones while showcasing the sapphire-set necklace I paired with it. Though the earrings didn't get a close-up, the overall makeup was done in richer warm tones, particularly the under-eye and blush areas, making my complexion look wonderfully healthy in such an intimate and relaxed setting.

The most fun part of being in the room was using whatever was on hand as props. In the first photo, I'm holding a translucent glass cup filled with a pinkish-orange fruit drink—a color that creates a subtle cool-warm contrast with the golden hair and blue eyes. The camera captured the sense of distance between me and the glass, creating a composition that visually looks like inviting a friend to raise a toast, feeling very natural without any forced posing. In the second photo, I took a chin-resting posture shot from a slightly lower camera angle, showcasing the extended lines of the neck and shoulders. Being closer to the lens, the details around my eyes and eyebrows felt very approachable.

Many people asked me before why I thought of creating a custom outfit for Navia. Because her character foundation inherently carries strong Fontaine traits and aristocratic charm with rich elements, making it easy to subtract from her base design to fit daily or leisure scenes. For instance, keeping the yellow rose and sapphire elements while adjusting cuts and materials to fit my own aesthetic allows for plenty of fresh creativity.

During the shoot, my friends helped find angles from the side. Although indoor lighting wasn't completely perfect, a slight color brightness adjustment in post-processing achieved the look I really love. The low-saturation blue wall of the booth turned into a super clean backdrop, making the light golden hair and black outfit look crisp and translucent. Highlights in this lighting weren't harsh at all, making the skin texture look soft instead.

If you get the chance, you should definitely try creating in small spaces like karaoke booths—the light is controllable and layering is super easy to find, especially when interacting with a drink cup to capture a relaxed, natural 2D daily life vibe. The overall set turned out full of atmospheric charm, retaining Genshin Impact's character style while leaving plenty of room for personal expression. While editing the photos, I got to relive those happy moments again, and I'm already looking forward to seeing what kind of daily-vibe works I can shoot next time I go out to eat with friends!
